jAegument poe a New Trial.— The motion to
gwint a new trial in the case of J, W. and J.
•*Bfad4ey, Win. Graham and Thomas Stewart,
convicted of malicious mischief, was argued on
Saturday morning before Judge M’Cfore, by
Col Wilson M’Can'ilefcd and Mr. Frew, the pri
soners* counsel. The grouuds upon'which the
now trial is asked, are that the Oonrt indicated
too strongly its opinion of the evidence, and
that the verdiot, iu a measure, was given under
constraint. The counsel said that after the case
had gone to the jury, they came down from their
room unable to agree. The Court had sent
them back with the assertion that the case was
as‘“apparent, transparent and clear” as could
be, ttad that they must agree. Under this posi
tive order the jury, that they might get to their
homes, had rendered a verdict of guilty. The
gentlemen argued that the Court had exceeded
its privileges in giving such an opinion, and
fhgitAhc defendants were entitled to a new trial
off those grounds. The argumeut was quite
lengthy, and at its close Judge M’Clnre said he
WOuld-Tchder his decision ia a few days.

MORSE’S INVIGORATING ELIXIR.
TT will replace weaknef.3 with .strength, incapacity .with
efficiency, irregularity with nn'form and natural ac
tivity, and thid Dot only without hazard of repctian, but
with a happy effect on the general organization. Bear
in mind that all maladies, wherever they begin, finish with
the nervous system, and that the paralizalion rf the nerve
of motion and sensation is physical death. Bear in mini,
also, that for every kind of nervous disease, the Kiirir Cor
dial is the only reliable preparative known.
CURE OF NERVOUS DISEASES.
No language can convey an adequate idea of tbo imme
diate and almost miraculous change which it occasions in
the disease 1, debilitated and shattered nervous fy*iotn,
whether brokon down by excess, weak by nature, or impair
ed by sickness—the unstrung and relaxed organization h
at once braced, revivified and built up. nnd
physical symptoms of nervous disease vanish together un
der its influence. Nor is the effect temporary ; for the C«>r
dinl properties of the medicine roach the constitution itself,
and restore It to its normal coudiltan.
Confusion, giddiness, rush of bl oJ to the head, melan
choly, debility; hysteria, wretchedness, thoughts rf srjf
destroct s on—fear of insanity, dyspepsia, general prrstra
tion, irtitabilitv, nervousness, inability to sh-i-p, diseases
ncidem to male*, decay of the propagating functions, hysi
teria, monomania, vague terrors, palpitation of the h-'art,
Impotency, occupation, etc-, from whatever causes arising,
it is, if thera be any reliance to bo on human testi
mony, absolutely infallible.
A GREAT MEDICINE FOR FEMALES.
The unparalleled effects of thiu great restorative in ail
complaints incident to females, mark anew era io the nnnitl
of medicine. Thousands of stimulants have been invented
thousands of invlgornots concocted—all purporting to h»
specified In the various diseases and durnngements to which
tbo delicate formation cf woman render her liable.
Who suffers from weakness, dera-gcmimt, nervousne**,
tremors, pains in the back, or any other disorder, whether
peculiar to her sex, or common to both sexed—to give the
invigorating Cordial a trial.
MARRIED PERSONS,
Orotbers, will find this Cordial after they have n?i/d n hot
tie or two, a thorough regenerator cf the rysten. Tn s’!
directions are to be found the happy parents of brnlthy r fi
spring, who would not have beon so but for this extrnlr-l *
nary preparation. Audit is equally potent for the ms nv dt:-
eases for which it is recommended. Thousands of your.»
men bare been restored by using it, and eoi in u single ii *
stance has it failed to benefit them.
PERSONS OP PALE COMPLEXION,
or consumptive habits, are restored by the n®«* of a bof-.ir or
two to bloom and vigor, changing the skin from a pale, y- -
low, sickly color, to a beautiful florid complexion.
These are Rome of the sad and melancholy eltects prrli
crlby early habits of youth, viz: wi-akn-as of the Lac'*
and limbs, pains In the head, dimness of sight, less of mne
cular power, palpitation of the heart, draper,da, Dervout
irritability, derangement of the dienstiv* functions, general
dvbility,symptoms of consumptions, etc.
Mentally, the fearful effoctson the mind are much mb
dreaded. Loaa of memory, confusion of ideas, doc
of spirits, evil forobodings, aversion to society,s*!M>s:rti«t
love of solitude, timidity, etc., are come ol the ovib* pnxlii
