Ho was laid out insensible, and . when he esme to his mind again, found that his -face had been disfigured frightfully by the blow, in the meantime, whilo Creighton was in an un ‘ conscious etato, Sullivan went to a magistrate ...and made Complaint against him for assault and battery. Brubaker, near Brownsville, was entered the " book way; and a trunk, In whioh Mr. Brubaker kept’hie money broken open, and five hundred dollars in gold, five hundred in Brownsville mo ney, one hundred in silver, and about one hun dred in different bank paper taken.” Two per sons, who were seen coming from the back part of the house, a short time after the money wvs missed, were subsequently arrested on tbo mountains, for the robbery. Drownkb.—A .boy named Jamca Allen, while skating on the Monongahela river, on Thursday afternoon, near the Saw Mill Ban, broke through the ice and was drowned. When the boy fell through, a yonng man ran to bis assistanoe, but before ho could succeed in getting him out, the .ice broke, and both were left straggling in tbo Water. The yonng man, finding that ho conld not save the boy, owing to the weight of biß overooat, was relnolantly compelled to lot go, and make the best of his way to the shore.
