Wn, have maw employed in nut Job Office an unusual iMmber of excellent job printers, and are prepared to execute all orders with neatness =surpassed, and with a speed that shall not be • heat. . We have done a - very large amount of printing in Our Job Office within the last ten days, but cart „do`stgl more yet. We will snit all customers the-speed and mummy of our work. 'Vim Perna To-Dar.—The list of articles on oild the bitioa at , State Fair, occupies so mach _ of our space to-day, that we aro compelled to leafs out a large amount of reading matter which *glare prepared. -Bat the account of the Fair will be interesting tit sll our readers. Oar citizens would do well to monis a copy, and preserve it. For ash at our counting room. Ripe, attutts goaidorabld attention, it performs In one day the %Pork of thirty -. men, with greater aecuracy than any man is capable of. Heretofore, the work of mantifae4iring fiose has been tidions . and axpenervei : litnt tire haven tion.eifl4i.Havile wilt make a revelation in the mantitacture - Of tife artiele. Caleir Aticgheny Citir t exhibits an ingenious rotary nail Plate feeder. It is intend ed for the tnanrifacturo ornails. Several hose carriages are eihibited; They present a fine appearance. We notice among them - the - Eagle, Independence, Duquesne and Washington carriages. The quality of leather- exhibited-is extensive; and presents many different specimens of the tanners' art. Several of our shoo dealers ex hibit their manufactures. EWA, 'below us, on Fifth street, has on exhibition two cases of ladies' shoes. If an elegant shoe, is any addi tion to beauty, and we all know it is, especially when accompanied by a neat foot, we know of no place in the city, where the fair sex can be suited better than at our friend Keys'. His ladies' white silk gaiters are superb. W. 8. Haven, the enterprising book and job printer, presents several specimens of the skill of his workmen in the "black art." They are well worthy the attention bestowed on them. We wish particularly to refer the public to the specimen of book binding exhibited by Mr. H. The copy of the Bible, and of Boydells' Wastre -1 tions of Shokspeare, bound ut his bindery, equal any fancy eastern work we have ever seen. Both these books are magnificently bound, and go still further to show, "that we can do things here as well as in the east." Mr. Haven also exhibits a choice collection of stationery. Edwards, Wells & Co., rival the Novelty works, in their display of locks, latches, &c. Mr. M'Clurg, exhibits several metallic Cahill , . They together with a hearse exhibited by Hancock, attracted considerable attention from those interested in grave (the pun belongs to Mercuitlo) matters. 9EPTEMBER. 29 Floral Hull, rivalled Mechanics Hall yesterday, in the number of visitors attracted to each. The hell is fitted up with great taste, and present* fine appearance notwithstanding the hurried and Imperfect manner in which it was erected. The decorations by the ladies. hide in a great men• sure, the blemishes in the building. In the centre of the hall is a raised platform, In which is erected a rural temple, in the Moorish style, it was designed by W. P. Marshall, of this city, and reflects On that gentleman credit for his artistic taste. to the temple is a splendid tier pensive piano, exhibited by Kieber, and on all aides, the eye is met with a display of flowers, shrubbery, fruit, paintings, &e. Wall, Rhodes, and others of our artists contributed to this de partment, specimens of their skill. Mrs. Sutler, of this city, exhibits a wonderful piers of needle work. It is an etching, representing o rand scene, done with the needle, and done so natur ally and truthfully, as to cause one to atop and ask if the paintera' art has not been brought tato use. Miss Helen M. Dunlop, exhibits several beautiful specimens of fancy ueedlo work, and Miss Ellen Murdoch, a display of baguets, ar ranged with gr.mt tote. In this department, is exhibited the products of many of oar nurseries. Mr. Snyder, has here specimens of his fruit, Mr Maitin, of his style of trailing grapes, our other nursery men also exhibits specimen of choice frail. Mr. Thoroley, of Fannon, Seaver county, exhibits specimen of apples and pears, tempting in appearance, and rich and luscious when tasted. The sickle pears he exh‘bite, arid the various kinds of apples, deems the attention of those interested in horticoltore. A teat Is erected tear the Floral Ilia by the enterprising firm of Kennedy & Co , exclusively for their own use, in exhibiting the products of their nursery farm. The teat is filled with trait, green house , pants and vegetables. The tent designed for tho exhibition of house hold manufaetares, is we'11...4y of special atten tion. The disphy of quilts, home made linens, and other articles whici, come under this head, ie large. Miss Gertrude Rapp, of Economy, exhibits specimens of raw and manufactured silks ; Miss Lammy also exhibits raw and manu factured silk, and silk goods. In the vegetable tent, there is a large display of all kinds of vegetables. Pumpkins, cabbages and beets are exhibited of tremendous etre. The trial course for horses was occupied yea• terday. A stand in the centre is erected for the accommodation of the judges, and the track is enclosed by a rope which passes around The Judges received their books of entries yesterday morning, at 10 o'clock, and at once proceeded to the examination of the various de partments assigned them. The which we publish, comprise all the entries made up to 8 o'clock yesterday morning, after which time no entries wore received. SPCLINTOCK vs. CAROTHERS The public acts of Dr. Carothers, as a mem ber of the Senate, have certainly been of a character to give offence to many of our citizens, as the Gazette, in effect, very candidly admitted a few days ago. In the session of the legislature of 1850, Dr. hiTlintook introduced a bill to provide fors just compensation to our citizen soldiers, who served in the war with Mexico ;e k and he also voted for compensation to the tioldai.s of the war of 1812. The section introduced by Dr. M'Clintock would have been but an act of ju.stioe to the two regi ments who went to Mexico, and there upheld the honor of our State, and did gallant service daring that war. Many of the citizens of Alle gheny County were in those regiments, and it is but right that they should know that Dr. M'Clin took used hie utmost exertions to procuro them Justice. Extracts from the Records aro before use showing the feet. The Senate Accords for the session of 1851 also show the fact that Dr. Carothers, as a mem ber of the Senate, remained silent and inactive on the subject ; and devoted his time to pre senting petitions for the repeal of the Ten Hour Law. No one can doubt the justice of tho claim of the soldiers who fought our battles. Dr. took, if elected, will give it attention ; while Dr. Carothers will probably remain silent again; or devote himself to repeal or destroy the Ten !lour Law. M. The Editor of the Gazette is getting into a contest with Mts. Swisshelm. Mrs. Swiss helm's opinion of Dr. Carothers, which we pub lished a few days ago, Is damaging the unlucky Doctor very much. She is a near neighbor of his s and the people think she hums all about the Doctor's character and capacity. And so she does—ehe thinks lists too weak to be use ful as a Senator. We shall probably republish it in a few days. We would advise the Editor of the Gazette not to quarrel with Mrs. Swisshelta. The women will not pity him, if she "floors " him as com pletely as the Pm has done within the last few days. Take care, D. ger The Chronicle states that we have had in onziJob Office but one printer, No man but a rogue would state so base a falsehood. lye halm ono of tho best job offices in this region, and it Is turning out a large amount of work.
