It gives us great pleasure to say, that Greenslrarg docs not rival Pittsburgh: and wo cannot say that Greensburg would boat Pitts burgh always, though considering her <> natural advantages,” we do not know what she might do. Pittsburgh cannot . injure Greensbnrg, and • - Qreensburg won’t injuro Pittsburgh. From time to time, Pittsburgh has gone , on increasing, hut not without rivalry from its neighbor, thirty miles east;: but wbat was -to- the advantage of one, is to tho advantage of both. Mr.-Hunter moved on amendment by extend ing the time to the 80th of August - Mr. Gwinn opposed fixing the day until some thing was known , relative to the appropriation bills, or until Mr.; Norris’s resolution requiring them to be presented ; ten days before the time fixed for adjournment. - . Mr. Douglas moved an amendment, that tbo Secretary inTorm tho House, that tho Senate will be ready .to adjourn, ten days after the Appro priation bills aro sent ap. The chair decided the latter-amendment to be ont of order. After,debate, tha resolution was postponed for one week. The Senate then took up the Deficiency bill. When all the House amendments to the Sen ate’s amendments, except three, were agreed to.
