Daring Outraged Bighuay Eoiitry.—A
most daring outrage was perpetrated on Tues
day night, near the outer depot of the Penney l
yania Railroad A French phyeiolan, named
Alphonse Bione, arrived in the city in tho morn
ing, and was btopping at tho Depot Hotel, near
the tioket office of tho railroad, on liberty street.
On Tuesday evening; about 10 o’clock, he walked
out on tho railroad track to within about forty
yards of the outer depot; he noticed two men
walking a short distenoe before him—also ano
ther manfwho came, up to him from a different
direction, and Bpoko to him, asking him what 1
time it was ; ha took out his watsh and told tho
stranger, who then asked: him Whether he had.
any monOy, to whioh he replied that he had-not;'
The ruffian here struck Mr. Rinne; knocking him
down, and ashefieU; he struck him again. He
then took out his handkerchief and passed ,it
across Mr. R.’s mouth, and then tied-him.to a
tree;" The other men, who had come up by this
time,- assisted the first.-; rascal to tie him with n
rope, around the throat, to the tree. The men.
then-stripped Mr. Rinno of bis clothing—hat,
panto, vest, and shirt—not .leaving-.his ,
shoe's and stockings oven; in his coat was a rod
morocco pocket-book; - which contained several
papers of value, and a number of surglcalinstru-;
ments of Frcnoh raako; in his vest was a small
pocket-book;- which oontained s7s,'mostly; in
gold—hd had also upon his person a small silver,
lepine watoh; after .which, taking the clothes;
they left Mr. Rinno tied to the tree by his hand
kerchief, which passed across his mouth, gagging
him; he was also tied by the throat and feet, with i
ropes, and his hands tied behind him. In this
position the villains left Mr. 8., and he remained
tied to tho tree until about five o’clock yestcr
dayrnorning, when ho was relieved by some one
passing, and conveyed to a doctor’s office, nearly

Mr. Clements introduced a joint resolution
providing for. tho election of. a public printer,
and to fix the price of printing. Referred.-
On motion of Mr. Davie, the Senate took up i
the bill to. amend* providing for. the better secu
rity of the lives on board of steamboats.- The
bill was amended, and the Senate adjourned.
. House.— The House -resumed the oonßidern
tionof the joint resolution-of the Senate, au
thorizing the: Postmaster General, athis discre
tion,: to. deolare-: plank roads post routes —which
was passed.
. Among the Executive communications made
before, the House, was one giving estimates to
the department for the survey of the route from
the Mississippi to the Pacific Ocean, and rcoom
i mending.an appropriation for the same at onoe,

Clay's remains. Minute guns are being fired,
and the flogs of the shipping are at half mast.—
Business is totally suspended, and the stores and
public houßes are dressed in mouTning.' The
military and fire departments are out, and thou- :
sands are rushing to the landing to pay the last
tribute to departed worth.
Columbus, June 7,
There is to be a very large turn out of citizens,
societies, military and firemen, to receive the re
mains of the illustrious Henry Clay. Columbus
does honor to herself. Everything is in the best
taste. W. Dennison, IV. H. Swayne, and S. Gal
loway, Esqs., are to speak. The cortege will ar
rive at Cincinnsti tp-morrow about 11-o’clock. :
Philadelphia, July 7.
The Native American Convention at Trenton
adjourned last evening,, having changed, the
name of their party to “American." They adop
ted h platform, after, having nominated Daniel
Webster for President, and George C. Washing
ton for Vico President. One hundred guns wore,
fired in honor of tho nomination by the Natives.
The remains of Henry Clay arrived Inst even
ing'and were received by a torch-light proces
sion of the military and firemen. They were
immediately conveyed to the Buckeyo State,
which left at once for Cleveland.
The river Ima fallen three inches; weather
warm There have been no transactions of im
portance in the market, or change in the prices.
Baltimore,. July 7.
The repairs to the Chesapeake and Ohio. Canal
will bo completed by the 15th, and operations
