This caso was concluded this morning; the jury returned a verdict of “ Guilty,” and the prison er was remanded for sentence. Commonwealth vs. Amelia A. Harris—lndict ment, Larceny. The jury found- the prisoner guilty, and ho was -remanded for sentence. Commonwealth vs. Joseph W. Miller—lndict ment, Rape, on oath of Caroline Krepps. This case was not concluded when the court ad journed. . Steamboat Accidents. —There. ate a groat num ber of steamboat accidents daily occurring on onr Western rivers. - Many Pittsburgh boats have met with accidents. We:see that the Btearaer American Star, by-coming in contaot with the Terre Haute bridge,had both chimneys, tho pilot house, and a portion of the ladies’ cabin carried away; the boat has commenced a suit against the bridge company, laying her dam ages at §2OO. The lonianwas sank at the head uf the lochs on the Wabash, on the 24th.. She was bound for Cincinnati and will prove n total loss. The steamcrGlancns, while lying at Mont rose, on the Upper Mississippi, was totally de stroyed by fire, onjhe 20th last. Sho was in sured in the Associated Firemen’s Company, of this city. By a telegraphic despatoh from Wheeling, we learn that the steamer Companion was sunk in fifteen feet water, onMonday night. She was loaded with pig metal. Death of Capt. Wilkins. —The various military companies of this city, wo understand, will attend the funeral of Capt. George S. Wilkins, to- day, at 10 o’clock, from the Quartermaster’s building, on Penn street At a meeting of the surviving members of the old Pittsburgh Bines, Elijah Tro villo was chosenChoirman.and John WillocfeJSeo retary, after which they resolved to attend the fnneral of Capt. /Wilkins, and wear the usual badge of mourning thirty days. Railroad Collision. —A collision oesurred on the Pennsylvania Bailroad, on Monday afternoon, at 2 o’olotk, between Beatty Station and.Latrohe, 42 miles from this city, by which one of tho, clerks at Beatty’s Station had his leg broken, and the two locomotives were very much injured. The accident occurred by a mistake in the tele graphic despatch, whioh failed to announce the departure of tho other train from Johnstown. Kew Past Offices. —The Post. Master General has established a new post office at Coartnoysr viUo, Allegheny county, nnd appointed John W. Moore, Postmaster. • A Post Office has likewise been established at Hope Churoh, in this county, of which William McKee is Postmaster.
