ON Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 1543,th0 undersigned
were called apon by Messrs. Lipyencou 4 Barr, to
wane** an honest and udr ten of one oi their Pltatnlx
Safe*. The furnace being prepared, toe Safe wa* placed
inside thereof, with books, paper* and some mouey; when
the door of the Safe wai closed and the fire kindled at <>
quarter pastSo’cloek, and in a short lime the Safe was
red hot, and continued till half past G o’clock, being about
fpetr and a h&lf hoars, when the committee expressed
their satisfaction that the time occupied with such boat
was sufficient* The furnace was then pulled down, Safe
cooled, and door opened—the books, papers and mouey
safe. The heat was to great as to melt off the brass
mountings. VVe therefore take pleasure in recommend
ing these Safes to tho public, as being,in oar judgment,
