Flannegan for Commonwealth, and.Carnahan for defence. Com. vs. James Blair—for an assault on John McMullen. Washington far Cornmonwealth, and FoSter for defence. z; • ' The jury in this case, after an absence of sev eral hours, could not, agree, and came into court and were discharged. Com. as. Wm. Jones—indicted for nuisance in keeping ferocious dogs. It appears that the de fendant, who resides in the Eighth Ward, ,keeps a number of ferocious dogs, which are trained for fighting, to the'great annoyance and terror of the neighborhood. Several witnesses testi fied that the dogs would go into the neighbor's houses and take the victials and they were afraid to drive them out of-the house; they have bitten people ; the most dangerous one he sometimes kept muzzled. A - witness for defence testified that he 'never • saw the dog without a - muzzle since Jones owned him ; that he kept him for a breeding dog, and not for fighting ; that his dogs were quiet. The furniture of the-St. Anthony, which was sunk near St. Charles a few weeks since, has been recovered and taken-to St. Louis. The hull and machinery of the ill-fated steamer are still lying in deep water. rta., Mr. W. C. Reno, Mrs. Harrison, and others had been found at a point about. one hundred miles below the scene of the disaster. They were much mutilated, but pa pers and jewelry led to their positive identity. They will be immediately brought to this pity for . burial. The body of Miss Langstaff had not been found, although persons were on the look out for it, as well as others. Three or four charred skeletons were discovered in the hold of the boat, with nothing, however, that could give the least clue to personal recognition, and bo dies half eaten up by the fish, have been found, sweltering upon the shores, with all traces of Identity forever gone. Doubtless many, whose names were unregistered, have gone to their last account, leaving friends and kindred in the melancholy suspense of a hopeless hope. When I last saw you, I had but little hopes of ever getting any better. Hut I have now the pleasure of thanking you for recommending me to take Dr. Rogers' Syrup of Liverwort, Tar, and Canchalagna. I got "a dozen botflea of it and took house with me, determined to make a fair trial of it, as I had done with everything else. I have only taken tour bottles of it, and I must say it has done me more good than any other medicine I have ever taken. On my first taking it, it increased the expectoration, and I raised a great deal of bloody matter from ray lungs. But that has now ceased, and so has my cough, near/y. I cough but little now . , and ex. pect soon to be entirely free from it. I consider it an invaluable medicine, and shall recommend it to all who are afflicted with "a cough or diseased ludis: I let a young lady who bad the CONSUMPTION, and had bled a good deal from the lungs, and doctored sever al months with our physician, but grew worse, have one bottle of it, and is cured her.
