The offerings at Bank, wo also learn, have been large; rates, however, have not advanced beyond our last week’s quotations at Bfllo per cent, for first class names; good to fair paper may be negotiated at Ioli per month. The Washington Republic of Saturday morning says: The demand for Mexican warrants is good, but at lower prices than quotations. Buyers are afraid to buy largely, as it is not known whether the new ones will be made assignable or not. The N. Y. In. the length of rafters, brick in the gable ends—making the . house easy of access in case''of a fire, and showing a better finish and Appearance. Also, when tin is' used the gutters are worked in, thereby saving the extra arid heavy expense for copper gutters, copper flashlngs,Ac., —things indispensable on slate roofs. . If farther reasons were deemed necessary, we could offer the experience of our eastern cities in proof what has been aavnnced, as it is & well known fact that New York end other east ern cities very generally prefer even tin for: heir moat costly, and splendid buildings, notwithstanding they have . a foil supply of. slate attheir doors.
