TiaEooflng,
THE subscribers take' this method to inform property
holders, house-builders, and all others interested,
that they still continue the business of Tin Roo&ng, in
all its branches; Their skill and experience in this part
of the business,: has hitherto enabled them to give entire
satisfaction. And they “ hope; that by confirming the
same policy of using the best materials, and employing
skillful workmen, to keep up thiafavorable impression.
If the question of Tin Roofing was newyor just brought
before the 1 notice of this Community for the - first time,
we would conslderthat the importance of the subject
would justify usin extending ourviews on itssoperior
advantages. This, however* in not the case. We shall
therefore! confine ourselves to a few remarks.- On .the
OUi day of Jane, 1844,(nearly seven yearsugo*) we fin
ished our first job Of Tin Roofing in IMS' place. From
that up to the present time, we nave covered with tin
the roots' of the finest and most costly buildings that
have.been erected in this county. .We have given onr
views on a previous occasion oa the superior advantage
ol .Tin over iron, as a covering for houses - . And time,
the great tester of alt things, has but too clearly proven
the correctness of bur opinion. -i .
Again, if we place Tin in juxta-posilionCwitb Slate ns ,
a covering for houses, we think that tin will bear a favo
rable comparison, with some decided.advantages.-r-
These advantages are, that when tin is used theroof can
.be made much flatter—thereby saving-materials, in;the
length of rafters, brick in the gable ends—milking the
hoose easy of access in case of a fire, and showing a
better finish and appearance. . Also, when tin is used
the gutters are Worked iii, thereby saving the extra and
teayy expense for copper gutters, copper flaahingSj &c.,
—things mdispensible on slate roofs. If further reasons
were deemed necessary, wc could bffer tbe experience
of our eastern cities in proof what has been advanced,
as it m a well known fact that New York and othereaat
cm cities very generally prefer.even fin for ’heir most
costly and splendid buildings, notwithstanding they have
a full supply of slate at their doors. With these remarks
we win leave the subject with those interested, and will
take pleasure in giving further. information when called

Ka irnmiduitt effect is to allay all Irritation, and gently
remove the phZegmaud other morbid secretions from the
Throat and Air-Passages; thus relieving the Cough, by
subduing the inflammation and other causes which rive
rise to it. It also stimulates and imparts a healthy tone
to. the Lungs themselves, thereby enabling them J more
thoroughly to remove from the blood lhaso impurities
and diseased particles, which,:if Retained, do so ranch

upon the skin, and assists nature in expelling, through
the Exhalents.raUchof that morbid matter which womd ;
otherwise be thtownbackupou the Limes, thus relieving
them of apart of their work, and rendering the system'
pureand healthy. When tubercles are forming, it checks
their development and further progress; or if ulceration
has taken place, it assists the Lungs inthrowingoff the
corrupted matter, soothes the irritation, heals the ulcer

This Medicine; therefore, is not a pctiiativo merely,
which only relieves for the time being, but is a thorough
