Oesobn 5, 1&19• The papers have-all announced the glorious news orate rise in the river and the consequent revival of business. Our streets now look quite differently from what they did but a week ago. Business men are in,great glee and anticipate a 'auccessibl fall trade. The weather ham been cool and pleasant—save du ring the rain--aria yesterday the sun shone beauti• fally. • The business now doing is confined to shipping 'goods to fill orders Left some time since. The wharf is crowded with boxes, bales, barrels, and Pittsburgh manufactured articles. The receipts are light yet, as no boats have arri• ved from below, But in a few days the produce of Ohio and the great West and South will be poured - Prices of some articles are a little unsteady. Our figures below will be found as nearly correct as per eible, under the circumstances. MONEY MATTERS.—Money is plenty in the Eastern cities. The N. Y. Journal of Commerce of Monday last, says: , "Money , la easy,; the supply is large. The East ern 'demand .which has been observable for-some little time, has fallen off. Paper is in request; the rates are on loan - calls, 3, 4 and 6 per cent for first class names ; 5 per cent for short dates, and 6 to 7 per cent for 4 to 6 months. Stocks are dull and down." In this city, Currency of all kinds remains very scarce, at the same rate of discount as in our last week's report, f per cent. Eastern enchenge is sel ling at jak per cent, with the supply about equalto tbe, demand. Scrip of the city of Pitiaburgh is now redeemed in Specie at the Banking Houses of Meows. Kramer & Rahm and William A. Hill & Co. The Allegheny City authorities have not effected a loan to redeem their scrip, and it is still depreciated 20 per cent. County scrip is in demand at 8 per cent discount; Ind it ii.said that as soon as the Legislatuie meets the Commiasioners will ask for the passage of a law Authorising them to borrow money tv redeem It in specie. City Bonds are down to 88 in Philadelphia. Mer chants, and Manufacturers , Bank stock is now qua ted at $5O offered, and $5l asked. ASHES—The market is inactive. ' and we witness ho change in prices.
