COUNENCEMENT OT A NEW TAADE.—The Michi• gar brought down on Friday, from Chicago to Messrs. H. H. Brown & Strong, the first consignment from St. Louis, via the Illinois and Michigan Canal. The consignment consisted of smoked hams, lard, and molasses, all of which will no doubt meet a ready sale in this market. This !abut the commencement of a trade that must prove of incalculable benefit to our State, and is destined to become one of consid erable magnitude.
