BM 4 , 1r,v ,, • LOCAL, 111A.Tii,AR :4119 . 1131.Ti AND 'BerTZRIER.—His Honor, Silage Patton, in the Quarter - Sessions, yesterday, gave notice, that' at the:next term of the .Court, such punishment would be inflieted for assault and bat i tyauldtin to prevent the commission of 'the offence so frequently. He remarked; that the number of bale returned at each session of the eourt, were large, in cornparischt with the number returned.by Grand Julies in other counties; and diclaied his intention to do what wsit in his pow er to reduce the number in time to come. The Court has heretofore been too lenient in such cases. In future, pereons convicted, must not expect to ese, zpe'svith less than a $lOO fink, and three or six months' imprisonment. The citizens of Pittsburgh and Allegheny, and surrounding villages, will rejoice to learn this de termination on the part of the Court. The fre quency of broils, in public and private places, is a deep disgrace to our county. The principal busi nese irifourpublic officers has been in matters of this kind. In •addition Jo. the peace and the better security, of citizens, which will•thus be Komoted, an immense expense will be saved to the county, a matter of no small importance to the taxpayers. 0144Poathiaster M'Kibbin has received a letter, from a Mr. Wright, of Dewitt, Onondaga county New York,: who asks information in relation to lh'eat WoLcoTt and his sister CATIILIIINE, Who married a confectioner in this city named Ross. We recollect them all—they lived in Pittsburgh about seven years ago; Henry was a compositor in the office of the Manufacturer. He took it into his head that he could practice medicine, and so off he started for the. West with some tin boxes labelled 44 - Wolcott's Fever Pills." We saw him six /Oaths:afterwards in St. Louis ; he was second steward on an Illinois steamboat, and had a small er brother with . him. We have heard nothing of tam Once, nor do-We know of the A•hereabouts of his brother-in-law. 1f this should meet the eyes of .any of the above named persons, they, should write to " William Wolcott, Syracuse, Onondaga county, New York," who is in great distress to hear from them.
