' .SPALDINO'S :MONSTER CIRCUS.
..The triumphal procession of this immense es.
tablishment, headed by Kendall's Brass Band,
kill
be made this morning throUgh the Principal Streets,
Of which the route will be found id eh advertise
"merit in another column. Of 'course the avenues,
rill be thronged, and wi advise Pedes
trians, who have not the humour to be jostled by
the crowd, or the time to be detained, to seek less
freqUented streets intheir journeyings about the
city. The unparalelled superiority of the Band of
music, and the interest universally felt to hear the
Magic. Bugler, EDWARD KZSisextr.:aside from the
extent and splendor of the LuggagE Vans, would
base a tendency, to Make this entree watched with
greater interest thani any that has pTeeeded. it. A
new. Pavilion, upon the same plan as that which
received so much praise ontbeir route, shipped
to this city from New York this week, in anticipa
tion:uf,the countless numbers who are expected to
be . covered by it, will be erected.
• AIIIIEST ors Tutcr.—On" Wednesday night
last, Mr. Murdick, of the Burnt District Hotel,
was robbed of a pocket hook containing $4l in
lank notes, and a number of valuable papers. He
went out to put up a horse, and left a man
named Dougherty in the bar room. Id the morn
ing he missed the pocket book and contents which
he had left in his vest pocket. He at once suspected
Dougherty, informed the police, and engaged of.
ricers Hague and Patterson to go in search of him.
YeSterday, about 10 o'clohk, they found him in
Lawrineeville, at a publiclouse. He was arrest.
ed, brought to the city,•and examined betbre
Steele Twenty-two dollars of the money was iden
tified. ~ He bad in his possession about the amount
-lost by Mr. Burdick; Twenty-five dollars in
counterfeit mor.ev, on the Lafayette bank of Cin
-cinnati, Was also found. It is supposed that he
is either a counterfeiter, (as well as a thief,) or bas
connection with a band of counterfeiters—as an
alphabet, used by the professiop, was found upon
him,
. Dougherty is from Beaver count!, a man about
middle aged: and not very well dressed. He has
_no 'family. -He is now in jail, awaiting his trial at
-the next term of the Court.
3jr. Alunfick did not get his pocket-book, which
contained valuable receipts, &c. Dougherty, it is
supposed; threw it aWay, or otherwise concealed it.

p;Hardly a night passes but some intellectual
f!.nad is served up in the Diamond, to admiring,
laughing, boisterous congregations. There are
meetings for reform; and conservative gatherings.
There are religious, social, and political speeches
to be heard on almost every night. There is a great
deal of truth, amid considerable humbug, given out
by speakers and propagandists of the respective
Parties that meet in the aforesaid locality ! The
exact amount of good that may be done, we can
not estimate, but dam say there will be some; for
there is good in every thing.
We hope the Police may continue to protect
the Market House meetings. On this side of the
river there has yet been no annoyance of any ac
count; but the scenes of Allegheny may be en
acted here.

principal streets of Pittsburgh and Allegheny. We ,

where a number of speeches were delivered by
members of the craft. There were about 270 in
the procession. They hail a band of music, with
a banner; on which was inscribed--P-Sn advance of

year 1840, when she was sir years old. At this time
we had given her over- I had written to my friends
that I thought she could not recover. She bad taken
various medicines under the directioriofa physician,
with no great benefit, Hawing heard that the Vege
table pulmonary Balsam had been recommended in
another case by a distinguished physician of Boston,
I was induced to purchase a bottle. The good ef

was speedy, and I attribute the preservation of her
life to the use of this yaluab)e preparation.
