T.lnitid States, were explored by Mr, Owen; the geologist of the State of Indiana,'undet the instructions from the Treasury.Departmcnt, and in compliance with a zee solution ofthe /louse of Representatives, passed Sat Febinary, 1599. The able report adds gentleman, publielied as document No. 239, House of Represent. tatives, first session of 26111 Congress, shows that these lands include all the productivemines, and the entire region in which ; from observations during hi. survey, there is reason to believe that valuable veine of ore may readily be found.
