Skbioi'3 Accident. Op.- Friday a week a young son of Mr. Jackson Fink enbinder, of Mifflin township, met with a very serious and painful accident by by means of a Threshing machine. The father was driving the horses, standing at the usual piace, bat, we believe, with out a platform. His boo, who attempt ed to get to him, was caught in the gear in g, and Lis legs, though not exactly crushed, were broken in a number of places at the thigh joints. The father, in attempting to rescue bis son, came very nigh sharing a similar, if not a worse fate. It is almost suicidal to be without a platform on a threshing machine, and it has been our painful duty to record sev erl terrible accidents occasioned by this neglect. About forty teachers had their names enrolled. At every session the room was crowded, while in two eveni ngs the two rooms were required to accnmtnodatethespectaiors. The teachers consisted of the leading teachers of the county and Col. George F. McFarland the Lifer rendering very important aid. Discussion pertaining to the management j and governing of the schools were freely jnj ably participated iu by directors aud citizens. Mesers.
