There is a story going the rounds of the press that a few Sabbaths ago a cer tain minister of a church Sn Danville, Kentucky, was so oiifnscd by a dis tinguished member of his church repeat edly blowing his nose so furiously that he forgot t-ntirely tint portion of bis sermon wtdeliveivd. The minister in despair asked that whoever knew the text should answer it, but the congregation had for gotten it aud was abashed that their inattention had become known to their Pastor. A prayer ended this redwkable meeting and the congregation did not learn till the next week, that their preacher was in dead earnest in his in quiry for the text. They thought he was only trying them to find out how much they knew of the sermon. Too. Late Wt dropped into Mr. J. M. Winter's Photograph Gallery the other day just as a party left who came too late to have their shadows taken. We of course asked why it was that pic tures could not be taken then a well as at any other time' in the day, and were fully convinced by Mr Winter's explana tion of the working end direction of Hght, that to secure a good picture the setting mast be done at the proper time. The time, as given by Mr. Winner, is from 9J A M.to 2 P. M., for grown persons, and for children, from 10 A. M. to 2 P. M., and for taking the pictures of children successfully, clear days must be selected. We publish the above bints, hoping to benefit those of our patrons who wish to have pictures taken, and at the same time have a good job made. We would here take occasion to state that Mr. Witner is by far the best pho tographer that has ever been in Miffliu. The pictures taken by him are not sur passed by any artists outside of the larger cities, and but very few city gal leries turn ont better work.
