Last Saturday morning Hen ry Kuisely, a resident of Patterson, and an employee of the Railroad company. when at work on the railroad, not far from Tuscarora station, was knocked to die side of the track by the Cincinnati Express going eastward. A freight train bad just passed westward, to which his attention had been drawn ; consequently he did not notice the approach of the down train. The locomotive "bumper" merely grazed the side of his face, yet with such force that he was picked np for dead, and taken home to Patterson, where, under treatment of Dr. Banks, he is doing well. Judges of thi Court of Common Pleas of Juniata county, have issued their precept to me directed, bearing date the 9ih day of SepL, 187i for holding a Court or Oyer and Trminer aud General Jail Delivery, and General Quarter Sessions of the Peace, at Mifflintown, on the first Mokdat of Decem ber, 1870, being the 5th day of the month: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the Coro- ?r, Justices of the Peace and Constables of tha county of Juniata, that they be then and there in iheir proper persons, at 1 o'cloek in the aflerniton of said day, with records, in quisitions, examinations and other remem brauces, to do those things that to their o Bi ces respectively appertain, and those that are bound by recognizance to prosecute against the prisoners that are or then may be in tbe Jail of said eouuty of Juniata, be then and there to prosecute against them as shall be just. By an Act of Assembly, passed the 8th day of May, A. D. 1854. it is made the duty of the Justices of the Peace cf the several coun ties of this Commonwealth to return to the Clerk of tbe Ccurt of Quarter Sessions of the Peace, of the respestive counties, all the re cognizances entered into before them by any person or persons charged with the commis sion of any crime, except such cases as may be ended before a Justice of the Peace, under the existing laws, at least ten days before Ihe commencement of the session of the Court to which they are made returnable respectively, and in all cases where any recognizances are entered into less than ten davs before the commencement of the session to which they are made returnable, the hail Justices ire re quired to return the same in the same manner as if said act had not been passed.
