It is a large paper 36 columns and is ably conducted. The editor of this fine big paper on the evening of the 11th inst. attended the wedding of a wealthy and fashionable couple of the city of Pekin, and in the Republican of the 14th he devotes a col umn and one-third to a description of the wedding ceremony and ' festivities, and particularly describes the dresses of sixty nine ladies, giving the name aud color of the goods that each of the sixty-nine wore, also the color and quality of the trimming, &c, &c. Weather Warnings. The British Board of Trade has published, for the benefit of seafaring men, the following remarks on the appearance of the sky : A rosy sunset presages fair weather, and a bright yellowish sky in the evening indicates wind, and a pale yellow wet weather. A neutral gray is a favorable sign iu the evening, and an unfavorable one in the morning. If the forms of the clouds are soft, undefined and feathery the weather will be fine ; but if the edges are hard, sharp and well-defined, it will be foul. Any deep, unusual lines bound ing the clouds betoken wind or rain, while quiet and delicate tint bespeak fair weather. - What Is It? We received a strange paper last week, called the Blade, the outside printed in New Tork, and dated at Tyrone, and the inside entirely blank ! We don't know whether to place it in the animal, vegetable or miserable king doms. Hullidayiburg Register. The Reason' Why. The immediate cause of premature fading or blanching of the hair is an obetuction of the oil ves sels which afford the coloring matter The remote cause may be general ill health, trouble of mind, etc. Hence, in order to restore its natural color and beauty the oil vessels must be restored to their normal condition. It is on this principle that NATURE'S HAIR RE STORATIVE is compounded, and it has proved a complete success, wherever er faithfuliy applied. It is not a poison ous dye, consequently the effect is gradu al, and in severe cases two or three bot tles are necessary to produce the desired result. He was very kind to his family, and especially his companion, and loved them dearly. For twenty-four hours before his death, his friends feared he might do himself an injury. About 2 o clock on the day be, died, ho asked Mrs. K. to walk with him to Mr. Townsend's, about a mile distant. A they walked together, about midway, he took her hand affectionately, but clasp ing it too tightly, she raid, "Joseph, you hurt me." He did'not speak, but tightened his grasp. She looked in his face and his countenance alarmed her. She said, "Oh, let us go home ; I'm so sick." He iesisted going on. He then placed his arm on ber shoulders aud arouud her, and took her other hand in his, and kissing her, said beseechiugly, "Come with me a little way just to the woods don't leave me," and tightening his grasp and using a little more than or dinary force with the arm around her, but no violence, and all the time his countenance becoming more alarming, nntil she exclaimed, "Oh, I must go home I'm so sick," flinging herself out of his arms. When from him a few pa ces, she turned to see if he was coming with her, but to her horror saw him take a razor out of his pocket, and with open blade which gleamed in the sun, cross the fence and go up the hill out of her sight. At this time I was leaving my house, riding, and heard her cries for help. I was where they parted iu a few minutes, but he was out of sight, and perhaps fifteen or twenty minutes elaps ed before be was found, he having run about fifty rods to the next fence, where he committed the fatal deed. There was no great trouble or embarrassing circum stances that drove him to this all was imaginary in his case. Nearly all. Our pile of thin paper is running down.
