and owner, says the Tunkbannook. Pest rat,
William Jennings, to make this miniature

especially to those who wish to cress the river
at ttattplaaa This host, if alt things work well
with it, could be pleasantly, if not profitably em

light draft. We hope it may not be made only
profitable to its enterprising builder, but also a
very decided cultrotiletiec to the town, for whose
convenience and pleasure it has been built

The following resolutions wen: then °tiered
and unanimously adopted:
Resolved, That we believe the Sabbath School
to be among the most efficient instrumentalities
r the advancement of temperance, missionary
reform, aml all that tends to Godliness, taking
the mind at an early period and preparing it nn-
der tEe inspiration of the bible, for the great and
glorious work of bringing the world to Christ
/3,0:4nd, That the earnest, devoted christian,
willin to learn; apt to teach, having a deep• in
terest us the-Sunday School and an earnest de
sire to win souls, is the Person who has the best
qualifications for a Sunday School teacher.
Besolred, That we recommend a thorough pre
paration of the lesson by each teacher, and 'be
here that a weekly teachers' meeting will great
ly facilitate such a preparation.
Rewired, That the encouraging indications of
a deep and more general interest in the Sunday
School cause in this county is the occasion of
gratituds to God, and should stimulate us to still
greater activity in this department of christian
usefulness
Rewired, That we recognize the importance of
a County Convention as a means for the im
provement in the modes of Sabbath School
teachins• and for awakening a deeper interest in
the Sunday School cause.
Resolved, That the Sabbath School Mission
work holds a large and most important place in
our field of labor, and claims earnest, persist.
seat and well directed effort from our individual
churches.
Rewired, That we deem the statistical facts
concerning the various Sabbath Schools of this
county to be of such importance as to deserve
the prompt attention of the District Secretary.
Rewired, That we rejoice in the spirit of elms
tun union that has been manifested in this as
sociation, demonstrating that whatever our
nominal differences, we are one in Christ and
one in chrbsfian work. •
All our children for Jesus is our motto and
watchword.
On Motion.--A vote of thanks was given the
citizens of Susquehanna Depot for their hospi
tality and the choir for their services.
In concluding the report of this meeting of
the association, we regret that, in consequence
of our distriel. secretaries not receiving the
necessary blanks usually distributed, by the cor
responding sedielarles, the statistical reports are
so few that.j: t cannot give a full and general
statistical of the schools in this county.
But are gielfied to state, from the interesting
reports from delegates present, and the statisti
cal reports received that there is manifestly a
deep interest felt in the cause of Sunday Schools
in our county and a united effort of the 'various
denominatations to tench the rising generation
that Divine knowledge which is able to make
wise unto salvation and lead the - young into the
fold of the Divine Shepard. May the blessing
of the Holy. .Spirit attend such efforts.
