The four sections of freight trains which left Springfield, Ohio, on Mon day morning freighted with about 1,700 reaping and mowing machines of the celebrated Champion, pattern, arrived at A 1 toon a sometime yesterday forenoon. At that point tbe trains were consolidated, and run with a powerful engine, No. 501, and a full complement of train bands per order of Superintendent M'Crea, t this city, as one train, arriving here at fifteen minutes to seven o clock In stead of 4.30, as previously announced owing to the fact that some time was consumed in switching of five cars at Lew'mtown and attain cloven cars at Murysvlllo, point where tho "Cham pion i was left for further distribution. Theso valuable machines were loaded on cars of the Empire, National and Union lines, which were all luhclled with attractivo black letters hn broad strips of white muslin, "Champion Reaper and Mower." A 4.30 p. in. quito a crowd had gath ered at tho depot, and considerable disappointment was felt, but after an explanation of the cause of the delay the assemblage dispersed to be on hand again promptly at seven o'clock. The train consisting of 5(1 car moved slowly along the main tract through Canal street, on its way to the l,o cliiel iron works, at which point the train was stopped. It was subsequent ly moved back to the stock yard above tho city, v. hero tho wars wore distributed as follows ; Seven cars to York, over the Northern Central rail way ; cloven to points tin tho Phila delphia and Erie railroad for Clinton county j ten over tho i.ebnon Valley roiid, consicnod to parties in Lehigh and adjoining comities ; seven to points in Lancaster county; and the remainder over the Pennsylvania rail road, consigned to parties in tho lower counties.
