' Executor. 1gln'l"'-, THE BE8T lV,.t??i"ai Horizontal SmfT',i ICE CREAM HUMOROUS Comical Disaster. It was Moper'g tarn for Invention that caused the disaster. Moper designed a mtm kind of a "patent, inflated gossamer bus tle," for ladies. It waa a thin bag of India rubber,, which was to be inflated with gas to give it proper extension and sufficient lightness. When the model was complete, Mrs, Moper determined to try it. She wen into the yard, and tried the machine un der her dress, while Moper turned on the kitchen gas to fill the bag. It worked well enough for a few moments, when all at once Mrs. Moper began to ascend with, frightful rapidity. She had barely time to scream down to Moper to put the children, to bed early, and the next instant she wa two miles above the snowline. . It was en barras8ing, for Mrs. Moper very embar rassing, especially as she could not reach around the bustle to turn off the gas in or der to come down. So she floated afeert up there among thunder storms and clouds and crows and aurora borealises for several hours, enjoying the scenery and studjiag the air currents and wishing she kad brought her muff and a book to read. Then she commenced to descend gradually, un til she came within a couple of hundred feet of the earth. She then screamed some as Bhe floated along, and several enthusias tic students of natural history tried to bring her down with shot-guns, under tho impression she was some new variety of os trich or flamingo. But a sudden gust of wind struck Mrs. Moper and blow . ber against the Presbyterian church steeple- with such force that the " inflated gossanev bustle" exploded violently, impressing the sexton with the conviction that the sacredi edifice had been struck by lightning. But when he came out and. saw Mrs. Mopen caught by her panier on the weathercock, with her parasol pointing east and west, as, the wind happened to shift he comprehend ed the situation. It oost six hundred dol lars to builda scaffolding to get Mrs. Moper. down, and even then Moper did hot in troduce his bustle into the market. He will sell out his patent right cheap, Mrs... Moper wants him to. Clear as Mud. Charles llauber, a desperate looking vili lain, was accused by J. O. Oskins with the theft of a stove from his store..
