A searcher after political truth asks lis, " Is it your honest opinion that Horace Greeley will be elected Pres ident?" We havo given this subject a great deal of auxious thought, and it is now perfectly clear to us that Greeley will sure ly bo .elected, unless 'it should happen that Grant receives the largest number of votes. Wo do not like to form these conclusions bastily, or to express such decidcd.opin ions without mature deliberation. But wo aro willing to stick to this. Greeley's oleotiou seems to dcpoud,in a very romarlt blo'and mysterious manner, npon the de feat of his antagonist, and ho can only bo defeated in ono way, namely, by being beaten. If Grant is not beaten, Greeley will not bo elected; and if our correspon dent wishes to obtain really accurato in formation concerning Greeley's success, all ho has to do is to'ascprtain if Grant will be beaten, and ho has the ' wholo thing, in a certain sense, in his own hands. We hard ly over give information on political sub jects, but when wo do, wo call bo roliod on for accuracy. . A Horse Thief.
