In consequent of tho recent fires the citizens ol this placo held a couple of meetings to decido what to do in tho matter. Two committees wore appointed, ono to wait on Mr. S. A. Co., were disposed to do the square thing, and were aware of the fact, that more fire es caped from the stacks, than ngreod with property holders health here, and that they would remedy tho matter as soon as possi ble, that they were thou substituting new stacks for the old ones. Tho second com mittco is still on duty. Tho citizens also resolved themselves into a flro brigade, and appointed a committee to draw up consti tution and by-laws, and report next Tues day evening. There seems to bo no question about the potency of Its tonic and alterative proper tics, while It possesses the great negative recom mendation of containing neither alcohol nor mineral poison. That it Is a speeillc for Indi gestion, Billionsncss, Constipation, and many cotupluiuts of nervous origin, wo have reason to know ; nnd we are assured on good autliorU ty that as a general Invlgornut, regulating and purifying medicine, It bus no equal.
