A gentleman in our neighborhood,

At a Sunday school a few miles
from town a few Sundays ago, the lesson
was in the 3d chapter of John, in which
occurs the verse "And as Moses lifted
up the serpent in the wilderness, even so
must the Son of Man be lifted up." The
teacher, not thinking of the many answers
a child might give to the question asked ;
"How was the serpent lifted up !"
One little bright eyed boy, who had seen
serpents handled before, answered proper
