The person who best enjoys the inspection is the person whose digestion is the best., and whose pocket-book is indifferent upon the subject of pressure. We especially love to look upon the cool slabs - of the fish stalls.- Those - in the Fifth street market this morning were admirably provided. The salmon; the shad and the fresh mackerel, lying side by side, look like so many ingots of burnished metal. No table fish, ex cept the trout, is equally splendid in appear ance to the salmon. The price of the Kenne bec and Boston salmonis 60 cents a pound. Of California salmon there was no. arrival to-day. The fish are about a third larger than our own. They are also a good deal fatter. They are packed in chilled cars in Sau Fran cisco. The ice is placed in the boxes with the fish. The cars are re-iced at Chicago.
