    CITY. BULLETIN.
Tits Pitti,Ann.rniA Linnattr.—The .Phila
delphia Library Company hair perchased a
site for a net* building, n accordance with
the purpose which has long been entertained
1:0f removing the Library to a mote western
location.
The lot purchased is ou the northwest corner
of Locust and Juniper streets, opposite to the
Episcopal Academy, measuring 110 feet on the
Locust street front, with a depth of 240 feet on
Juniper street, including the properties of the
Rutherford and Li vezey estates. There is a
ten-foot alley onithe west of the Property, thus
giving three fronts to the new building.
The location is a most desirable fine, central
and yet quiet, and the property is abundantly
large for the_ erection of such a building as
this valtiable Library requires. It has been
purchased for the sum of $75,000, and with
the- full--approbation of the -executor of the
Rush bequest. *The building of the new
Library on. Locust street has, of course, no
beating upon the question of the ." Ridgway
Branch" on Broad street.
It is not the intention of the Library Com
pany to erect the new building immediately.
The Building Fund does not yet warrant the
commencement of building operations, nor is
it likely that they will be begun until the
Company has some - immediate prospect of
selling its old prOpetty. The purchase has
been made to secure a desirable property, and
:ava investment of the Building Fund.
The lot is at present occupied by small dwell
ing-houses.

THE BnoAn STREET` COACRES.—A specimen
of the coaches which it is 'proposed to run on
Broad street, from League Island to the cross
ing of the P. G. & N. R. R., has been built. It
is constructed similar to the ambulances used
during the war. Each coach is to be drawn
by two horses, and will be capable of com
fortably seating sixteen persons. The seats
are handsomely upholstered. The entrance is
at the rear, awl of the same style as that of
a passenger car. Patent elliptic springs make
the running of the vehicle almost as smooth
as a car.
THE STANTON FUND.—The subscriptions to
the Stanton Fund in Philadelphia, as appears
by the books of James L. .Claghorn,

of $l,OOO each ;two of $2,000 each; fourteen of
$5OO each ; one of $3OO ; twelve of $250 each,

There is no doubt that the whole amount will

The grand Bal Masque of the AI annerchor
Musical Society comes oil' at the Academy of
Music to-morrow evening, and promises to

scale, and as the Society's treasury is in a very
good cendition; there will be nothing left un
done to make this Bat • Masque eclipse all
former ones. Among the many amusing
features of the introductory ceremonies will
be the solution of the great Chinese question,
which begins to alarm our social economists - ;
