Tribune.l Striped cambric is all the rage at present, and is almost Indispensable for morning costumes of fashionable ad es. The way it is generally worn is this: The skirt has very wide blue and white, or cherrv-colored and white, or green and white stripes; It has live of seven small flounces for ,ornament, or one large flounce, with a puffing above it, or a row of plaits or pipings may take the place of the flounces. The upper skirt is also made of striped cambric, but the stripes are more narrow. Its ornaments correspond with those of the lower skirt, and the skirt is open in front. and looped up very high, so as to farm u large puffing at the sides.( It may also be held np at the sides, opened behind, and cut round in front. The Russian - chemise of cambric has wide stripes like the skirt, and the flehu has no flaps, or a very small Lamballe mantelet may be worn in its place bordered with trimmings which correspond with those of the skirt, only ,on a smaller scale. The round belt is fastened at tft- side by a knot. Morning costumes are also made of unbleached linen or Marseilles. The linen-toilets are more simple, and merely trim med with lace of striking colors. The dresses made of Marseilles are unicolored, or with small Pompadour bouquets, and serve more as Walking costumes; they can be much improved by a tunic -43 f white Marseilles coquettishly looped back be hind and bordered with more or leas embroidered trimming. In this case the waist must bemade of unbleached Idarseilles,as well as the skirt, and the Lebo and the whole of it, bordered with ern. broldered trimming. There is no other choice with this costume than the Watteau hat, "with the brims held up. and small Dauphine shoes, of -dull kid or of Bilk cloth, with a large knot and high heels, ala Louis XV. The visiting toilets at Watering-places or in the country, generally dis play much richness in their execution • they are made of taffeta, for instance, and mixed with Chambery gauze, Challie or grenadine, the latter material being either white or black. I have seen the following costume, worn by the Baron oess -de V—, which Babe her a very dis tinguished appearance. The costume was made of turquoise-blue taffeta, and composed as fol lows: A: short skirt, ornamented with three stripes of goptire, ten centimeters in width, is covered by a black Chambery gauze cloak, a la Watteau, which also has stripes of guipure, but .of less width than those of the skirt, and is looped back at tke sides by Dots orgulpure. The belt of blue taffeta la fastened on ono side by a knot, i lu Mousquelaire. The waist worn under ; the. cloak Is of blue taffeta, cut •yery low, and bordered by a smal.guipttre. The straw hat, with high crown, it held up on one side by a °DR - blue - re - direr, and - tra - neck-141e, ala Mont= pensicr, Composed - of white guipure. 'The turquoise-blue• , taffeta parasol is covered with guipure lace, and the black boots have high Louis XV. heels, while the fan is blue, and ornamented with guipure. I have been asked whether long skirts may make paniera; to which I answer that they mayjust as well as the short ones: At a semi-official , dinner given by Mae. De 14-, in her castle of Tou raine,3lme. De C-------wore the following toilet: A very long dress of white Sultana, with a num ber or small golden-colored pipings and flounces. The tunic was looped back, and very' much puffed out cn pawns at the sides. The waist was cut low, and in•form of a heart, in front. as well as behind, and completed by a fiche Lam balls, fastened to the shoulders with a gold col ored knot. This fiche had microscopic yel low flounces, and pipings for - ornament, and fastening in the fOrm or a heart, both in front and behind, fell back in short flaps cut round at the upper part of the skirt. These flaps were fastened to the place where the paniers commenced, by knots similar to,those on the shoulders. The very wide belt, composed of a gold-colored ribbon, tell back behind over the skirt. I must not omit at this place to mention a few details which greatly help in improving the toilet. With costumes of striped cambric shottid be worn striped stockings , of the same color. The fan and parasol should also correspond with the character of the toilet. For certain traveling or country costumes the apron may be imitated by means, of trimming's. - CITY NOTICES.
