There were 144 permits issued for al terations and additions. , Lap.cenyof a Watch.—John Hughes, said to -bo a Schnylkill Ranger, wfts arrested yesterday and taken before Alderman Swift upon the charge •of the larceny of a gold watch from the tavern of James MeGtoley, at-Twenty-firat and Naudain streets. The theft was observed by McGmloy, who followed Hughes and had .him .arrested. When taken into custody tho stolen watch was found on his person. The accused had a hearing before Alderman Swift, and was committed in de fault of $1,600 bail to answer at Court. Stealing. Railroad Couplings.—Ann Kane -and Mar£ Kane'were arrested by Policeman WU s6n, of the Sixth Ward, upon the charge oftHo larceny of railroad couplings belonging to the Camden and Amboy Railroad Company. Suspicion of Larceny —Mary Neill was ar rested early this morning by. Swift. - Outbageous Assault.— Michael Casey was be fore Alderman Bonßall this morning, charged with attempting to commit an outrageous assault upon a little girl 12 years of age, who lived in the same house with him at Eighth and Shippeu streets. He was held in $l,OOO bail for trial. Bold Theft.— Ellen Rayall to a piece of muslin in a dry goods store at Frankford road and Dauphin streets, on Saturday. She was followed by a policeman and arrested with the stolen goods in her possession. Alderman Heins held the accused ip $l,OOO ball to answer at court. Serious Accident.— Last night, about twelve o’clock-.-John O’Brian fell into a tub of mash at the distillery of John Hagen, at Sixth and Reed streets, and was seriously injured. He was con veyed to the Penna. Hospital. Reckless Driving.— Thomas Bingham was ar rested last evening at Thirty-ninth and Markel streets for reckless driving, and was fined by Al derman MauU. Mad Doo Killed.— A mad dog was shot and killed this morning by Policeman McCullen, at Fifth and Binkley streets.
