The move ment is one outside of the regular politicians and is in the hands of a number of the best citizens of the Ward. To keep gond men In office and to break up the old "rings" of small politicians who rule us so potently, through the primary meetings, is the duty of all good Republicans, and If Mr.Spering has so discharged his public duties as to satisfy his constituents of his ability, patriotism and integrity, and we have certainly never heard anything to the contrary, it Is to be hoped that the nioveinenkso beinnaigurated to-morrow evonlng will meet with the Cordial suPport of the citizens of the Ward. There'ire dOubtless gentlemen in the:Tenth Ward as competent as Mr. Spering, but it is a safe rale, ' when you have a gond thin v. keep it." Policeman Reeder took the woman in charge, and as the cheek was pronounced good by one of our principal ccunting-houses, he took the check and advanced $l5 upon it. The woman then started as she said, for home, and promised to send the mosey to Reeder as soon as she got there. At Good Intent the water rose five or six feet above the dam, notwithstanding all the waste ways were unob• Evacted. On the meadows near the Woodbury and Good Intent turnpike, the water was at least four feet deep, and in some places much deeper. William Black's great mill-dam at Swcedsboro gave way to the force of water, a breach of one hundred and fifty feet bv thirty being made therein. Mr. Black's loss is about $5.000. The mill-dam of Zebulon Batten was swept away, as Was also Church Bun-bridge. On the branches of Mantua creek every mill-dam has been swept away.
