CITY BULLETIN, .MAN SHOT.- 1 -A roan named Cyrns Par ker was shot on .bhippen street, between Third and Fourth, about 12 o'clock, lasi night. lie had been along Shipman etr.- on Saturday night and had a difficulty with a man. Last ,night while passing along the same street, he was'stopped by turee, men. One asked-shim-if he had. struck a man on Saturday. The reply was In • the affirmative. "Are. you able to strike me again ?" was the next remark. Parker said that he didn't know, whereupon - the' man struck at hiffi, Parker then struck the other, and knocken him into the street. The. man .regained his feet, drew a pistol and fired at Parker. The ball entered upon the left side - of the mouth and came oat at the back of the neck, causing a painful and serious wound.. The three men then. ran off,. and at Third and 'South, streets, one of them was captured by RA - serve` , Officer Ingram, who had heard the shot - fired. The prisoner gave his name as Edward Manley. No weapon of any kind was found upon his person. He wit! have a bearing at the Central Station this After noon. Parker, the wounded man, was taken to the Pennsylvania Hospital, where his inju ries were dressed. Afterwards he was taken to his home, No. 1125 Charlotte street. He is confined to his bed, but was doing well this morning. HIGHWAY ROBBERY.-A German named Matthew Katlfarer, employed in the Green and Coates street , railway depot, went to Frankford on Saturday evening to collect a bill from George Martin, who resides at Holmesburg. In company with a German whom he met, he made inquiries at several sakions on the Main street, but was unable to find, Mr. Martin. At Green street he parted with his companion. Two other men then got him into. Green street, between Paul and Main streets, where they knocked him down and robbed him of all his money., which amounted to only $7. Kathrrer had been stabbed some time sincejust above the heart. One of the blows he received on Ssturday night was in the same place and the wound was re-opened.. He suffered so much that it.was thought that he would die, but he was taken to the Episcopal Hospital, and this morning was improving. His as sailants were not arrested. Row AMONG THE NEGROES.—Yesterday afterfloon a row occurred among a crowd of negroes, on St. Mary street, between Seventh and Eighth streets. Three policemen came upon • the ground and capturisd five of the participants. One of the prisoners Sylves ter Johnson by name, took a loaded cane from Officer Donnon and struck him upon the htad with it. He also had in his pocket a dirk knife with a blade 41 inches in length. While- in the Station House he behaved very ugly and struck a woman. Johnson was held in $l,OOO bail, and the others in $5OO bail to answer at court. ASSAULTING POLICEMEN.—Jabez Graham was held in $5OO bail this morning, by Al derman Hutchinson, to answer the charge of interfering with and assaulting Officer .Newnam, at Nineteenth and. Perkiomen streets. Edward Duffy, arrested at Six teenth and Seybert streets, for drunkeness, fought the officer and bit his hand. He was committed in default of $BOO bail, by Alderman Fitch. LARCENY OF IRON.—Ernest Schreider was arrested last night at Green street wharf by the Harbor Police. He was in a batteari, and had concealed a quantity of railroad iron. It is alleged that he has been carrying on small depredations for some time, and the Harbor Police have been - on the lookout for him. He was taken before Alderman Toland and was held in $6OO ball for trial. RonnEny.—Alderman God boa had before him yesterday Terrence Fagan, who was charged with larceny. A man named Severna was asleep in the bar-room of the Forrest House, at the foot of Arch street. Fagan took his watch valued at $125. The bar-keeper observed the robbery, seized Fagan and took the watch from him. The accused was committed. ILLEGAL DISTILLATIOINL—Bernard Sweeny was arrested last night in the neighborhood of Twenty-fourth and Brandywine streets by a Revenue Inspector, for the illegal disc tillation of whisky. He escaped, bat was rearrested by Sergeant Atkinson, and was locked up at the Fifteenth Ward Station House to await a hearing before the U. S. Commissioner. FELL OVEBBOARD.—George Cabell, the Captain of the canal boat Magnolia, lying at Noble street wharf, attempted to jump on the boat at an early hour this morning. He miscalculated the distance and fell into the river. Officer Westcott, of the Harbor Police, heard the splash, ran to the spot and succeeded in rescuing the drowning man., Alils - IVEESARY.—The fourth anniversary of the Young People's Association of the Fifth Baptist Church will be held to-mor row evening, at V: o'clock. The proceeds are to be applied to the relief of destitute children, and we hope the church will be crowded. It is located at Eighteenth and Spring Garden streets. ON DUTY A GAlN.—Lient. Jos. C. Fuller, of the First District Police, who was shot in a row at Moyamensing avenue and Reed street, during the extra assessments, ap peared on duty this morning for the first time since the occurrence. Yesterday after noon they Went to a house, No. 401 Noble street, and broke in the door. They were held in $BOO bail. BARN BITENED.-A. large stone barn be longing to George V. Rex, and situated on Main street, Chestnut Hill,'was destroyed by fire at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. All the crops of last season were consumed. The total loss is estimated at $5,000. The building is insured for $5OO. AN OWNER WANTED.-A stone cutter's mallet is at the Seventh District Police Sta tion, awaiting an owner. This mallet was used last week to break into Beck's hay and feed store, on Callowhill street,l;velo w Front.
