B. THOMAS, CHAS. S. OGDEN, EDWIN MIDDLETON, ALEXANDER J. HARPER, 'V i vi; I I% 6.10311:10311:11 The land of this Company consists of about lin acres In Mecklenburg county, North Carolina, about 34 miles from the town of Charlotte. On this property 15 shafts or pits have been opened and sunk. to various depths from 10 to S 3 feet. demon strating theesistence of three parallel veins of ore of about S fleet in width and abontls feet apart; converging to a common centre at the depth of about 150 feet. for ming one Immen. , tue:.s or vein of ore extending in length through the property more than half a mile. There are also on this property other veins of ore no explored. All these ores are known as the brown ores, and are very rich, yielding au average of about 4/00 per ton in gold. The above results having been demonstrated by the rude working of the mines fur several years past, the risk of investment In untie. veloped property is not incurred, and by the application o f modern mining and reducing machinery the Com pany anticipate an immediate and large return for their money. Having as ore that readily yields MO per ton, some estimate can be made of the value of this property. with the present imperfect system of mining. Ten tons of this ore can be taken out and reduced daily from every shalt opened at an expense not exceeding s 5 per ton leaving a net daily profit of $1,750 for each shaft worked by the Company. The large working capital reserved will enable the Company at once to procure and erect the best modern machinery for _manipulating the ores, by means of which the yield will be large'y increased. These mines, whilst they produce ores richer than those of Colorado or Nevada, have many advantages over them, particularly In an abundance of fuel and cheap labor, and the facWty with which they can be worked during the entire year, whilst those of Colo rado and Nevada can only be worked during the warm weather. A test assay of an average specimen of the ore from the Carson Mines was made as late as the 27th of January, of the present year, as will appear from tho following certificate of Professors Booth and Garrett, the Assayers of the Philadelphia Mint: PHILADELPHIA, January 27, 1666 Dear Sir: We have carefully assayed the sample of ore from Carson Mine, North Carolina, and dud it to yield ten ounces nine penny weights of pure Gold to the ton of ore. The coin value is therelbre $216 02 per ton of ore, Yours respectfully, BOOTH & GA_RBETT Da. M. B. TAYLOR, 404 walnut street, • Philadelphia. Stibscriptons to the Capital Stock will be received at the office of the COMPANY, No. 407 Walnut street, where samples of the ore may be seen and full infor matiot received. fe3-12t COPARIMMURIPS.
