He said that he owed-no allegiance to the Queen of England. nor obedience to British laws. He denounced these as traitors to their country who assisted to enforce the alien laws. . The prisoner was then sentenced to twenty years' penal servitude. The London Times congratulates the Irish Govern ment on being able to secure successive convictions of leading Fenian with so, little difficulty, in spite of everything that can be done 'or their defence.
