The ennnal assessment for 1603 for the above
named district, of persons liable to a tax in Gar
riu?e c' i .™ as ,?, re . Yactl b>i Billiard Tables, and Gold
and Silver Plate, and also of persons required to
take out licenses, having been completed,
. NOTICE is hereby given
That the taxes aforesaid will be received daily
by the undersigned, between the hours of 0 A. hi.
and 3 P. M. (Sundays excepted) at his office, S. W.
corner of Third and Walnut streets, on and after
MONDAY, the 7th inst., and until and including
Saturday, the 2d day of April next ensuing.
PENALTIES.
All persons who tail to pay their Annual taxei
open Carriages, pleasure Yachts, Billiard tables,
and Gold or Silver plate, on or before the aforesaid
2d day of April 1564, Trill incur a penalty of ten per
centum additional of the amount thereof, and be
liable to costs as provided for in the 19th section of
the excise law of Ist July 1882.
All persons who in like manner shall foil to take
out their licenses as required by law, on or upon
the 2d day of April 1864, will incur a penalty of
tenpercentnm additional of the amount thereof,
and he subject to a prosecution for three times the
amount of said tax, in accordance with the pro
visions of the 59th Section of the law afores aid.
All payments are required to be made In Trea
sury notes issued under of the United
States, or in notes of Banks organized under the
act to provide a National Currency, known as
National Banks.
No further notice will be given. ’
