The Riot and Murder near \Massillon.-
Arrest of one of the Rioters.
We have already noticed the serious riot wfakh
Occurred among a number of coal miners at
North Lawrence, Stark county, Ohio, about sir
miles from Massillon, which resulted In the
Murder of James. Cole, and the serious injury of
several other men. The miners had Wen on a

displeased the strikers. On Tuesday; of last
week a large number of the "workmen assembled
at North Lawrence, when a serlou slot occurred,
during which some twenty-four or thirty shots
were fired, one of which took effect In the breast
of Cole, causing his death- in- a few minutes. •
Several of the participants immediately fled, and
among those who found their way to this city
were David Watkins, Jeff Davie, and Thomas
James. The oMcers were in pursuit of them,
but fatted to find any eine to their whareabonta
until Sunday last, when a sister of Davus left
Maisitlon, under circumstances which led to the_
belief that she was on her way to commtudeata
with the fugitives- • She was followed by a de
