ni or has gained considerable credence in some
parts of ibis county, that the local option law
ling been pronounced unconstitutional by the
Supremo:Copt, and that Judge Mitacllti; gave
the opinion,• There is not a word of truth in
the report. The question:has been argued, bpi

that Judge lamella's sympathies are all in fa
svor of the temperance movement, and if a sense
trt duty compels liim'to pronounce the local op

given conscientiously, and in opposition to his
predilections on the subject. None of his
friends will hold him in any less esteern, what
ever may be his judicial opinion upon the sub

vinced ,that the law is constitutional. It they
are, they will not be backward in proclaiming
it.
