to be some general law to protect the
owner from the ravages of ddgs, of
which more especially.

annually in this 'country, from this

infl_cted would amount to $1,200,000,

• Any person losing Sheep notifies
these persons, ..(free-holders,) who
are denominated appraisers, and who

the town comisaioners give an order
' ' which is paid out of the dog-tax thus
collected. If at the end.of the ; year
_ any money remains, it goes to the
support of the - poor. This law is
