Thomas Dcegan, who first saw the Are lost all his cloth ing, together with valuable papers and a gold watch. Mrs. Deegan narrowly escaped burning to death, and was saved only by being let out at a window. Nothing of any value was rescued from the flames- There was no one present to aid in extinguishing the Are save those who were stopping with the family at the I time.
