UNION MEETING IN WARREN.—A large j and patriotic gathering of the citizens of Warren, was ; held at the residence of ROBERT COOPER, Esq., on Mon day, June 3d, IH6I. It was previously announced that Mr. CoorKß intended to raise a flag, at his own expense, and the people rallied heartily and with one accord, to assist ' |in unfurling the glorious emblem of liberty—the flag of I our whale country. 1 | The meeting was opened with prayer by the Rev. HEN- \ ' KY BARNES. Several young ladies then came forward, ; and with a " long pull, a strong pull, and a pull all to ; gether," raised to the breeze the Stars and Stripes, amid the enthusiastic cheers and booming guns of tbe usscinbl- { ed multitude. 'lhe Uev. Mr. ALYORD was then announced, who made an able and eloquent appeal to his Union-loving fellow- ' | citizens, both North aud South, to preserve the Govern ment in it* strength. As the God of Battles could never sustain the arm of the traitor, the rebel and the oppres . *or. The choir was then annotnceJ and sung the glorious old song " Hail Columbia." The liev. Mr. BARNES, then followed, and in an earnest j and forcible manner showed the relation existing between ' the North and South. He proved that slavery was wrong in the abstract, and incompatible with the life and pras- | peritv of a free government. As the speaker concluded, i ; the choir sung the spirited song " The Flag of our Un- ! j ion.'' ' C'apt. ANDREW DEWINO was then called—he responded in a few pertinent remarks, which were heartily applaud ed. CYRCB COOE. Esq., of Orwell, was then called ou ; he spoke ot the impenaing crisis and showed how it must be met. Another patriotic song closed the exercises of a day long to be remembered by the citizens ol Warren. UNION.
