    \s OLD PRISONER. —Last week, Joel
gchoonhoven, 100 years of age, was discharg
ed from Sing Sing State Prision, having been
pardoned by the Governor. He was commit
ted for lite for arson. He is a native of
Oiaii ,r e county, and reached the age of a cen
turv. in prison on the 4th of July last. He
saw Washington at Newburgh during the
war.
MKS SUFFOCATED IN THE GAS WORKS AT
£ rIF Two men employed in the Gas Works
at Krie, died on Wednesday, from suffocation,
while cleaning the purifier. They were order
ed to breathe fresh air every half 'hour—the
neglect of which caused their death.

dicial District, consisting of the Counties of Bradford and
Susquehanna, and Honorab'ex AARON CNRBBIOK and
JOHN F. LONG, Associate Judges, in and for -aid county
of Bradford, have issued their precept bearing date the
27th day of Oct. A. D. 15.",7, to me directed. for holding a
Court of Oyer and Terminer, General Quarter Sessions of
the Peace, Common Pleas and Orphan's Court, at Towan
da, for the County of Bradford, on the first Monday the
7th day of DECEMBER next, to continue two weeks.
Notice is therefore hereby given, to the Coroners and
Justices of the Peace and Constables, of the County ot
Bradford, that they be then and there in their proper per
sou, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of said day, with their
records, inquisitions,and other remembrances, to do tlu.se
things which to their office appertains to be done ; and
those who are bound by recognizance or otherwise to pro
secute against the prisoners who are or may be in the jail
of said County, or who shall be bonnd to appear at the
said court, are to be then and there to prosecute against
them as shall lie just. Jurors are requested to be punctual
iu their attendance, agreeably to their notice.
