fr -"& X 5JHB FJTTKBTJBG DISPATCH. SATLXRDAg, "SEPTEMBER JO. 1893. FfvrsFMe"" IT WAS LADIES' NIGHT. Many Fashionable Women at Exposition Last Kisjht. the HEK STAKD BACK IN ADMIRATION, Tha Kerrj-Go-Eound and the Wheel De partment Drew Well. THE MUSIC ONE OF THE BEST CARDS The third night of the big show at the Point showed no falling oS in the attend ance. As on the night previous, the Expo sition building was not uncomfortably crowded, but there were jnst enough people there to make the evening a decidedly en joyable one. Many society ladies were Conspicuous in the crowd, and, all things considered, last night's entertainment was the most snccesslnl of the opening season. The women bad an abundance of room to display their frocks and flowers and they were delighted with themselves and their surroundings. They realized that the men present were admiring them and they reveled in the fact that they were being watched and that their etery movement was being noted by admiring eyes. And the men enjoyed the pleasing spec tacle presented by the handsome women as a lover of art admires a pretty picture. Men Cause to See the Ladlrt, There were more men in attendance than on the previous night. Many of them divided their time be tween the Machinery . Hall where all tbe mechanism of the age seems to be gathered and the lot below the main build ing, where the merrv-go-round was being constantly operated for tbe exclusive bene fit of tbe belles and beaux and the smaller children. Ihe drawing power of a well regulated merry-go-round is positively astonishing. The "babies cry for it, the little children are delighted with it and tnauy full grown young men and girls use it tor a pleasant excursion. Another attractive feature of the big show is in the lot near where the merry-go-round is located, It is the bicycle department, and every pattern of wheel known is on exhibition there. The best possible way to get an accurate estimate of tbe number of wheelmen and wheeluomen in the two cities is to visit the wheel department There can be Jound'old and young, male and female, all interested and all delighted with that particular exhibit. The Mnsic for To-Dy. The musical programme last night had been carefuliy prepared and tbe great band es usual was one of the most enjoyable features. HOTEL TVILSON. A Popular Itort for Exposition Visitors. Tbe Hotel Wilson's popular bar and les taurant always enjoys a nood degree of patronage, but during the Exposition sea son this patronaze is alwas increased by the an ival of mauy visitors to the city w ho make this hotel their headquarters.
