South of Willow Grove, on the Mrs. Campbell farm, the Forest OiljCompany was drilling in Gordon sand at its No. 7 yesterday, but as it made only one or two rather light flows, the officers of the com pany did not believe that it wonld be better tban a 100-barrel well. The same company started to drill down its test well on the Devine farm, in the northeastern part of the MeCurdy field yesterday. It adjoins the McCoy farm, on which a fpurth sand producer was struck.on the east. Some time ago owing to financial difficul ties or the former, the Devine well was stmt down on top of the fourth sand until tho trouble was settled. This was accom plished a few days ago and yesterday they Htarted to drill It with the ronrth. President Young said yesterday that they were look ing for cas In the firth sand, but hardly ex pected to get any oil In the fourth.
