A Jury Trial in a Divorce Suit Eesults in a Separation Decree. BUSINESS OF THE C0U5TI COUETS A hearing was commenced before Register Conner yesterday in the matter of the con test of the will of the late Jefferson Lane, of Verona. The contestants are seven of the children of the testator, George W., Andrew J., Gustavus S. and Thomas J. Lane, and Sarah J. Hartley, Clariey Leslie and Margaret M. Showers. Under the con tested will, which is dated July 10, 1891, they are each given $10. The entire balance of the estate, including a farm in Spring- dale township, is given to another daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann E. Shannon. The witnesses to the will were "William Schafer. John A. McNeil and Kirk Kandolph. I". "W. Beala feld was appointed executor. The centestants allege testamentary in capacity and undue influence on the part of the principal beneficiary. At the hearing yesterday a small amount of testimony was taken on the side of the will, the witnesses to the will testifying as to Lane's condition when he signed the instrument. In Criminal Court yesterday George Kerr was found guilty of assault and battery on Samuel Wilson, a colored boy, at Home- fctead, on January 15. "William Buckley, "William Scott, "Will iam Coyle, alias "Mack," and Ed Reese Were tned on the charge of robbery, itbeinjr alleged that they had robbed the house of Mrs. Moreland, on Grant street, and also the office of W. W. Hays, on Penn arcnue. Buck ley and Scott were proven not guilty. Tho others were found guilty. The Jury is out In the case or Michael Hoot, charged with larceny ti om the person or I. J. Bassett, it beine alleged that lie stole three f 100 bills from Bassett on January 22. 1992. In the case of Thomas Grosran and Edward Steel, charged with larceny, the former was found notemltyand the latter guilty. Gust Hush pleaded guilty to enterinp the building of Daniel Lunn February U. John Smith nas tried for the same offense and lotind guilty. H. J. Claud was tried for assault and batten- on Maggie Honras and found not guilty. John Kcilly pleaded guilty to felonious as sault. Wolfgang Starn was found not guilty to the charge of pointing fliearms. Limited, against Simon Kehl, an action on a contract, a verdict of $33 for the plaint iff was giv en. K, Co., operating tho P., V. & C. E. B., to recover for land appropriated, a verdict was given yesterday for $1,650 for the plaintiff. A deckie was made yesterday incorporat ing the borough of Rankin station and dis missing exceptions to the proceedings. The new borough is created out of Braddock township. Martin yesterday entered suit against the Baltimore and Ohio Bailroad Company for $1,000 insuranceon the life of her husband, John P. Martin. He was a brakeman on the Baltimore and Ohio Bail road, and on December 23. 1391, was killed near Cunnellsville. Under the rules ofthe company he held an insuiance policy on his life tor S1.CO0 payable to his wife. Mrs. Mar tin irmde a demand for the money and was referred to Dr. J. A. Doerner, the company surgeon, at Cumberland, Md. He sent her a release which she was directed to sign and leturn to him and he would then come to Pittsburg and pay the $1,000.
