8 THE PITTSBURG. DISPATCH, "FRIDAY. FEBRUARY 27, 189L THE OLIVE BRANCH. A Possibility of a Settlement of the Strike Monday, When OPERATOES AND MEN MAY CONFER Excitinc Ecenes in the Greevj-Scull Con- test at Everett. S150E-KEWS FKOM THE THREE STATES IKTXClL TEI.SOEAX TO THE BI6PATCH.1 Scottdale, Feb. 26. The fight between Operator Anderson, of the Boiling Mill ferine here, and the strikers, has become so bitter that special officers were stationed last sight to guard the company's property. A number of the men are working in the mine, which has enraged the strikers to a high pitch. This morning 40 strikers way laid three of these workmen, and would iave brutally assaulted them had they not retreated. Operator Anderson was in the crowd and forced his way through the strik ers with the assistance of two bulldog re volvers. The indications lor an uprising are also threatening in the southern part of the region. Operator Martin, of the Fair ch.iuce works, where a strike is on, is mak ing preparations lor starting his plant. Ho will likely import men, and is said to have made provisions to shelter tnem already. A number of men are at work at the Mover plant, and the strikers are plotting against them. The 600 emplojesof the Monastery, Unity and Loyal liana works in the Latrobe district hare not obeyed the orders to strike. They were ordered out Tuesday Another Convention Is Called. A special convention of the strikers of the whole region has been called for this place for next Monday. The object is to devise ways and means for the continuation of the struggle. Some sensational developments are expected. There was no disturbance in the Panll or Fort Hill works, of Itamey. to-day. The employes of both plants were idle. Sheriff George Mc Cormick, of Fa ette county, with a large force of deputies, arrived on the grounds to-dav. There was also a large force of Pinkerton de tectives at the works. Operator Itainey swore out warrants lor the arrest of a number of the riotous strikers, all Huns. Three ring-leaders of the Huns have already been arrested, but une of them is out on bill. A settlement of the strike is in sight. Secre tary McBride was seen late to-night, and said: "During the National convention held in Columbus. Secretary McFadden. of the opera tors, called at on office and talked over the coke situation, and advised President Kae to arrange a conference in harmony with the last meeting witn them. The short suspension has had a healthy rather than a depressing effect on the coke market. As a result of that inter view I came through here. On my arrival I caw Messrs. Lynch and lirennen, who denied all knowledge of the conersation that pre vi ouslv occurred, but express themselves as being perfectly willing to meet and confer with the representatives of the miners lor the purpose ot fixing the present difficulty." McBride ac cordingly mstrnc-ed Secretary Parker to rail a conference of the operators and miners to take place here Monday. Operators on Top at Uiiiontown. A dispatch from Oniontown says: The coke Ctrike is virtuall broken at the Fairchance end of the lice. This morning Superintendent Martin, of the Fairchance. Furnace Company, Started the fires in 0 ovens, and to-morrow he expects to have 50 in blast. For the past w eek the Fairchance men have manifested a dispo sition to return to work. Superintendent Martin received notice to that effect, and so yesterday afternoon he gave notice that all who wanted to resume work at the old wages would have an opportunity thiK morning. Twenty men reported for duty, among them being several nnion men. Work was resumed quietly, and although some of the strikers crowded around and jeered the meu at work, no violence was offered and none is appre hended. Superintendent Martin said to-night that he had shipped two cars ot coke to-day, and wonld have 50 men at work to-morrow. He said all his men are anxious to retnrn to work, and he would give them the opportunity. LIVELY TIMES IN A CONTEST CASE. f Counsels for Greeyy and Scull Almost Come to lilowk at Etcrctr. rBrECIAI. SIXTH ST. worse. Scales would form over the sores and then dry out until they would crack and pop open, showing a watery matter. My skin was all like a dry wrapper. It felt as though it had dried on me. The scales were so bad that they would collect in the bed and have to be shaken out. It' was about this time that I commenced using B. B. B. I was so bad that I was ashamed to take my hat off before a neighbor, i had used five bottles of another medicine without noticing any effect ; but when I commenced to take B. B. B. the sores came out thicker than before, and they burned like fire ; they were immense blotches of fire that would burn so I could not sleep. The way they burned and itched can not be told, and I hope no one else may ever know from experience. The only relief I could get was from washing the sores with some B. B. B. I stuck to the medicine and was on the fourth bottle before I could see that I was really better, although I knew that it was better to get such rottenness out of my blood thauto have it stay there. I did say once that I wished I had never commenced taking B. B. B., but my wife encouraged me, and to-day I thank her for the advice, for I am in good health now, and I don't believe I ever would have been with my blood in such a condition as it was. My scalp now is clean and clear of all scales and tetter, and on my body there are only small spots to show where the sores were, and these spots are free from scales. I do not doubt but that the cure will be perfect. I am now on the sixth bottle and will take more until every spot is gone. I firmly believe that Burdock Blood Bitters will cure the worst disorders of the blood, for such certainly was mine. Signed, NEW ADVERTISEMENTS.
