"W. H. McCIung yesterday filed bis re
port ot the audit of the second accouut of
the assignees of the Farmers and Mechanics'
Bank of the Sonth Side. He states that in
relation to the second accouut he had a bet
ter understanding of the bank's methods of
doing business and adjusted and allowed
interest on 100 accounts upon which inter
est was not claimed or allowed at the first
audit. A number of the accounts upon
which interest was not allowed may yet
prove to be interest-bearing accounts.
The funds In the hands ot the assignee for
distribution, it is stated, amounted to S2S.y0f GC
This, less the cost of the audit and the pre

ot the bank, or a dividend or 8 7-12 per cent on
tlie claims constituting the general indebted

Offices.
It is universally recognized that the office
one occupies is, in a high degree, indicative
of the business character of its occupants.
In these days of finely appointed office
buildings a roomy, comfortable, well-licht-cd
and evenly heated office is one of the best
investments that can be made. One cannot
otherwise secure so much for so little; more
over, it is an advertisement no live business
man can afford to be without. The West
iughouse building is centrally located, ab
solutely fireproof, has every knowc conven
ience, is complete in all its appointments
and is unexcelled in its service. Kates
lower than any first-class, building in the
city. A few large rooms will be subdivided
to suit tenants. For particulars apply by
