JTjr Sale, 3b Let, etc., ten cents per line for each inser tion, and none taken for less than thirty cents. Top line being disvlayed counts as two'. The attendance at the Exposition yester day and last evenine was something over 20,000. Hundreds of people came to the city on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and swelled the afternoon attendance. When the city visitors came in the evening there was indeed a crowd. The talk of the day was the actions of the Allegheny school children, who were admitted by paBses. They swarmed the building like flies, stole cards, ponnded on pianos, and for a time completely turned the whole building upside down. One litil girl pur loined a whole armful of sample cakes of soap, and was taken to Manager Johnston's office, but released after being s-red. The police dropped everything else, and cl'ased some of the boys out of the gates. MAXAGEE JOnKSTOK WILT. Manager Johnston was nearly wild with the complaints sent to the office of the depre dations of the youngsters, and when seen last night said: "Never, in all my ex perience, have I seen worse conduct, or a more unmannerly crowd. Those Allegheny children seemed to do everything thev should not do, and hundreds of complaints were sent Into the office about them. They pilfered Doxes and candy from the counters, shouted, jostlea the other visitors, and behaved in the most disor derly manner. If the children's parents cannot control tbem they ought not to let them come to the Exposition at all. Bnrely some teachers might have been sent to look after them hern? The directors are very anxious that the child ren should come here and enjoy themselves, but if they cannot do so In a more orderly manner, the free tickets will all havo to be cancelled. We hope that the parents or teach rrs will see to it that an improvement is made. The KxDosition, with so niuchlvaluable prop erty stored up in: its halls, is hardly a fit romping place for all the unruly children in Pittsburg." VOTING OS TJlfDEKGROaND WIRES. Voting at The Dispatch headquarters was a little one-sided. The question was: "Do you favor or oppose a law compelling telegraph, telephone, electric licht and electric car companies to place all wires under ground?" The precision with which the "Yeses went down on the book argued well for underground wires. Page after page oi amrmatrve votes was recorded ana only four "noes." Those that registered "no" said that they did not think an underground system practical. Some of those who voted yes" did so with the proviso "If it is possi ble." To resume the vote nearly everyone is in favor of underground electric wires if prac tical, and if there is such a thing as putting them out of barm's way, the people demand it to be done. Tie voting topic for to-day is: "Should the National Government aid in the construction ot the proposed Lake Erie snip-canal." Voters will please register their names, address and answer in the poll-books at THE Dispatch headquarters. SHEAFER & LLOYD, THE HE NO TEA HONG. Where They Give Ten to All "Without cost, and served in the best man ner, in pretty Japanese cups. The He No Tea Hong is'in itself, without doubt, most educational. People are taught the actual customs and habits of the Celestials; they learn about their style of architecture and the materials they use in the construction of their homes. It is valuable information, acquired in the easiest and most agreeable manner. Although the magic cave was not quite finished yesterday, it is only fair to give the praise to the mechanic, who has .brought it to its present state. It was made by Mr. William J. U Bnen, in Baltimore, from Chinese models, and it is said that the firm who makes the exhibit, will give to any one who will suggest a plan whereby such a cave can be constructed on a better principle the sum ot S3.S00. The firm cer tainly is convinced that it cannot be ex celled, or it would never risk making such an extravagant offer. When all is said and done, however, the question of He No Tea is the one of vital importance; for it con cerns home comfort and health. Compare it with the stuff, by courtesy called tea, and which must disarrange theconsuraer's diges tive organs, and see whether you are will ing to admit any but the pure, fragrant He No within your doors. There is no diffi culty about testing or tasting it, for all that is necessary is to present yourself at the Tea Hong and have it served to you. It is a droll idea to have a flaming dragon preside over a snot where they want people to come and enjoy them selves; for what man or woman tails to re member how, from their earliest infancy, the dragon was held up to them as the most terrible of objects, the awful thing, that would take possession of them if they were naughtvl Yet here is a dragon that has be come the pet subject or the visitors, who calmly assimilate cup alter cup of He No, while they gaze right into the naming jaws of the monster a forcible instance, trulv. of what juxtaposition will do for us. The' Tea No Hong has come right to us, captivated all hearts, made Pittsburg a city of tea drinkers, and created a huge sensation gen erally. HOPPER BEOS, NO. 307 WOOD ST. A structure ot bright mahogany, beauti fully carved, encloses a very large square space, in which showcases, tables and grad uated steps all made of the same wood, form a reversed square or maltese cross. Two large plate glass cases face the north and middle aisles, while the other sides of the square are formed by immense graduated platform steps on tbe west, and flat glass cases on tbe east Facing the middle aisle is a very fine display of sterling silverware. a tea set of repousse work, six pieces, valued at more than $1,000; while there is every beautiful creation possible in silver in the smaller forms. In the flat case on the east side is a wonderful canary diamond (which shiues as only a diamond can) that weighs C8carats, value S1G.O00. A necklace of three strands of the purest pearls each as larse as a marrowfat pea, is carded at 12,000. The most carelul observation failed to discover the slightest blemish or particle of difference in hue or size. A gem to make one's mouth water has the distinction of being the largest opal in the United States. It is oval in shape, with vivid creen lights through it. This is worth 2,000. A diamond scroll pendant or lace piu is worth ?825. Another pendant $950. It is called the "sun" and its rays branch out woudrously. The "star," nnotlier pendant of diamonds, is worth $1,200. There is a huge bluish green eme rald as big as a marble. Watches, chains and such trifles are scattered everywhere, and there is a perfect glitter of jewels gen erally. On the graduated step tables (or whatever may be the technical term J is a display of cut crystal glass something to look at. The glass is so thick and clear, the cutting so deep and varied, that they shine like icicles under a bright sun. There are bowls square, triangular, round and with curved over-tops; candelabras for live lights with the newest square flat bases and surmounting all is the huge puuch bowl of the star, fan and piliur cutting. There are vases oi the celebrated Hawkes glass, (whose exhibit in l'aris took the cold medal), which have a most curious eiiect as you look at them. One set is red and white, another set green and white. In certain lights they look all white or all red or all green as the case may be. Tbe colors are apparently changable, but totally different irom irrides cent class. It is impossible to do justice to this charming exhibit in the limits of a sin gle article. Xuuibers of most beautiful ob jects d' art are necessarily omitted. Ma terials worthy a month's study are brought together here from the art centers of the world. Fine Furniture, Hangings and Carpets. Delightful additions have been made to this charming exhibit, in North gallery, iu the form of two luxurious chairs, the "arm rests and head pieces being composed of polished horns, whose natural curves con form thoroughly to the shape of the chair. The covering material is brocatelle the color olive green. The companion differs in the color, which is mahogany brocatelle, tne seat manogany tapestry. The work manship upon these chairs is very fine. A sofa calculated to make the non-possessor envious is covered with full mahogany bro catelle, the trimming a brand new style of netted fringe, with balls and tassel's in geniously commingled. A handsome black lur rug lies in front of this haven of rest, the glossy sheen of which seems to empha size the mahogany tint. The refinement and perfect taste which marks the entire ar rangement of this vast room grow upon you with each visit, until you are ready to de clare that it is the prettiest thing of the kind you ever saw. The storerooms on Wood st. are filled with any amount of these things, and it will lepay strangers and Pittsburgers to call there. A special meeting of the directors of the Lincoln School, Twenty-first ward, was held last night to consider what measures should be taken to relieve the present overcrowded condition of that school. The increase in the school was so great that an old build ing, formerly used as a store and dwelling, was hastily prepared and tbe children ot two of the primary rooms placed therein. The rooms ar9 small and during cold weather would scarcely be habitable. A committee was appointed to arrange for tbe use of two unoccupied rooms in tho school house on Lemmington avenue, where the chil dren of the primary grade will be sent. One of the directors stated last night to The Dis patch representative that In all probability some of the residents would object to such a move on the part of the school board, as tho children would have a much greater distance to go than at present, but that tbe directors were doing the best they could for the accom modation) of the pupils, under tho circumstances Another difficulty arising from tbe increased attendance is the scarcity of school books of certain grades. It is said that Messrs. H. L Gourley fc Co., from whom the majority of the books are obtained, are unable to supply tbe demand. Such an increase in attendance as that occurring was unlooked for by school book publishers, and they failed to lay in a sufficient supply. Coatmaker-for fine trade, j. h. FREDRICK, ROM Center ave..
