WA GiPIUS TRIUMPHANT. ? A Pneumatic Automatic Machine Side-Tracks All Opposition. WILL REY0LUTI0S1ZE THE WORLD. Ifotjirucli Longer Will Coal be Needed to Give Motive Power. THE' ACTUAL RESFLTS IMAGINED Mr. L. C. "Weltner, of TJniontown, has in vented a machine 'which he calls a pneu matic automatic machine, which he pro poses to pnt on the market and which, if it accomplishes all the inventor claims for it, will-spread smiling plenty from Behring's Strait to Cape Hom and from the month of the Lena to the Cape of Good Hope, enabling day laborers to avail themselves ot pleasures that at pres ent only royal revenues can reach. The ap pended description will give a faint idea of the machine, but to get a complete one, the reader must hear Air. Weltner himself, as he has, he states, improved so much on the original model that the description at hand is inadequate. The machine is the product of 26 years' thonght and experiment and a model at a cost of over $2,000, Mr. "Weltner says, proved the complete success of the idea. Mr. "Weltner was in the city yester day and to a Dispatch reporter said: AX OLD THEORY DISPBOVEiT. "The machine is a pneumatic generator ot motire power, and disproves the assertion that in mechanics what is gained in power is lost in time. The machine consists ol a series of tanks inclosed, the one within the other. Into each tank extends an air pnmp, and by this means 15 pounds of air pressure is pumped into the first tank, 30 pounds into the second, 60 pounds into the third. 120 pounds into the fourth, 210 into the fifth, and ISO pounds Into the sixth. On the other side of the machine there- is another series of pomps, the pistons of which work in cylinders of differ ent areas, running down from one inch to one-thlrtr-second or an Inch. These are all con nected and operated by a cylinder located overhead for that purpose. On the largest cylinder there is a valve that opens to the air and forces it into the tank at 15 pounds pres sure, the pistons forcing In the air on rising up. When they come down the valves are closed automatically, and in this way the air pressure is doubled over and over again. As the force generated is much greater than the resistance, the surplus can be used to compress more air, so tnat once charged, the machine generates its own motive power. Take for example a machine ot six condensers; the force of that motor would be 1,590 pounds, the resistance 270 pounds, leaving a surplus of 1,320 pounds. 'A peesstjbe seldom needed.. "Under this principle it will be seen that ma chines of all sizes and for all pur poses can be built. The great pressure of 4S0 pounds to the square inch is one seldom needed, and all the varying de grees of pressure downward to that necessary to impel a sewing machine can be procured. The expense of constructing generators is smalt, comparatively, and for operating merely nominal, as when finished the only cost is the keeping in rcnair. This compressed air will be made take the place of steam on railways, rivers, lakes, oceans, in the rolling mill and factories of all kinds. ''Power can be gotten without loss of time, and when the generator is once changed by extraneous effort, which need not be great, the machine will subsequently recruit its energy itself as fast as it is exhausted. In a short time steam power will go ont of use as expensive, cumbrous and dangerous, electricity will be produced so cheaply that it will take the place of coal for lighting, cooking and general heat ing. An apparatus three feet square will run a street car. superceding electricity and all other motive power. BOBSES NEEDED NO KOBE. "Pleasure carriages, buggles and farm wagons will be run by it; plowing, sowing and reaping done by its aid, and horses will only be bred by the rich as luxuries, or for the preservation of the genus in museums, like the buffalo. Man ufactures will be so cheap that the laborer can array himself and family in purple and fine linen and, in short; the wildest luxuriance of ; imagination is necessary to faintly perceive the revolution that will be worked. The only drawback that suggests itself will be the read justment of Interests and avocations that tbo invention will necessitate. The owners of our immense coal deposits will find them lie inert until some new use to take its place for fuel is found. .. -Since the days, however, when British agri cultural laborers burned agricultural ma chinery and mobbed those who used it, the world has tired of kicking against the naggings and th'e manifest advantage to be gained by the use of air as a motive power will soon reduce friction, and when a family wants to take an ainng, it can get into its carriage, set the pneu matic automatic machine in operation and one member at the helm can pilot the vehicle and the only subsequent cost will be that of repairs. After the trifling expenditure of getting a start in the world mere existence will bo a pleasure." ...fnvs" mLR& aliii TtlEJy LEMON JELLY CAKE, To the yolks of six ercs well beaten, add three-quarters pound white supar, juice of one lemon, one-halt pound oi flour having in it tine measure "Banner" Baking Pow der; then add the whites or six ejrgs, beaten stifi: bake in jelly-cake cans.
