VanZandt submits his explanation of an incident which happened in the War De- partment building in Washington, D. C, and which was reprinted in the column “Random Items” of this newspaper, as it appeared in “The Washington Merry - Go-Round,” well known column written by Drew Pearson and Robert Allen Congressman VanZandt's ver: of the story follows: “The morning of my visit the War Department I was accompan- fed by Lieutenant Colonel Benjam- in Levine of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in whose behalf an interview had been arranged with a member of the staff of the office of the Surgeon General, U, 8S, Army.
