Haugh, who comes here from the York offices. —Mrs, Edna Thomas, of Philadel- phia, a caller at this office Tuesday aiternoon, is spending some time in Centre County among friends in the Milesburg and Port Matilda areas. Mrs, Thomas’ husband the late Rev. Joseph B. Thomas, died about eight years ago while he was pastor of the Port Matilda Baptist church, and since that time Mrs Thomas has made her home in Philadelphia. The Rev, Mr. Thomas was pastor of the Milesburg Baptist church about 20 years ago, —Mr, and Mrs. Ronald Struble and daughter, of Montrose, spent the weekend with Mr. ang Mrs Siruble’'s respective parents, Mr. and Mrs, F. L. Struble, at Peters- burg, R. D., and Mr, and Mrs. James Kline, of Pine Grove Mills. The Strubles brought with them a mon- ster wall-eyed pike which Mr 300 Struble caught last Thursday while Conrad Harland, of angling in the Susquehanna River near Montrose. The fish weighed 6's pounds and measured 27 inches in length, and is reported to be the largest pike caught in that area this season. Mr. Struble hooked the monster on a plug. Lewis Carpeneto, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Carpeneto, of the Keystone apartments, North Alle- gheny street, who has been with the U. 8. Air Corps at Bolling Field, Va. for the past several months, has sclved the problem of writing to relatives and friends, He spends part of every Sunday writing a min- jature newspaper called “Bolling Letters,” of which he makes as many carbon copies as necessary, and mails to his list of correspon- dents. Lewis' letters are breezy, newsy, and interesting If he has something he wishes to say to any one of his correspondents, he mere- ly sets it off in a paragraph headed with the name of the person for whom it is intended.
