J Watson--Brugger:—A very pretiy| wedding was solemnized in the Methodist church here on Saturday | afternoon, November 25th. at 3 p. m.| at which time Miss Mary A, Brug- ger, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, C. K. Brugger of this place, became | the bride of Mr. Louis Watson, son | of Mr. and Mrs, Frank Watson of | Uni on Township. The church was| very beautifully decorated in ever- | greens with white chirysanthemums and ferns. The ceremony was per- formed by Rev. D, D. Kauffman, pastor of the church. The bride was attired in a long white crepe dress with a long wedding vell and carried a bouquet of white chry- santhemums. The Maid of Honor was her sister, Miss Martha Rose Brugger of Wilmington, Delaware, and wore a white satin brocade blouse with long crepe skirt of yel- lowish hew and carried a bouquet of large yellow chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid was a cousin of th? baide, Misg Virginia Brugger of Gann onsburg, Pa, and wore a long ine colored velvet dress and also heya, The best man was & carried a bouquet of yellow chry- relative of the groom, Mr. Leroy Nearhoof, Jr., of Tyrone. Last reports are that he is able to walk around some in the hospital. He hopes to be able to go to the home of his brother, James Stere of Pittsburgh in the very near future where he will remain until he has recovered sufficiently to make the trip home. The members of the Young Ladies Sunday School class taught by J H. Finch, held their annual birth- day social on Tuesday evening in the Community house. Supper was served at 6:30 P. M. to about fifty guests and members of the class The table was laden with most de- lictous food of all kinds. A silver offering was lifted which netted them a nice sum for their treasury. A number of friends and neigh- bors of Mrs. Nannie Williams gath- ered at her home last Thursday evening and presented her with a nice lot of groceries as a Thanks. giving donation. She was very much surprised but gladly accepted the things and enjoyed the evening to the greatest extent.
